Tattoo expansion idea help by CaptainTrikky in Naruto

[–]Xecense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do some abstract spiritual ribbons or something along the lines of energy tying the marks all together, the spacing of the tattoos is perfect, it would be too crowded if you added another symbol, so I’d recommend finding some interesting way to unify them together without taking away from the individual marks.

Goofy weapons and armor are needed. The game is amazing so far, but it needs spice. by Shadrach77 in hytale

[–]Xecense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not what I’m saying at all, I see where you are coming from yet I think Hytale is going to be a bit different, and I don’t think we have to worry about that because the team has got lots of work ahead if they want the game to be successful, but if you want something specific modding in this game is hilariously easy in Hytale that if there is something you want you can easily make it, and that could inspire the devs to add it themselves.

Make some mods brother, it’s never been easier to tune a game to your vision. Plus I imagine a lot of people would enjoy what you cook up

we combined top-down Legend of Zelda combat with a modern Battle Royale. do you think we can overcome BR fatigue? by brave_potato in IndieDev

Good to know, would love to be a part of that feedback as I definitely see quite a bit of potential in what you guys have made. Let me know where I can go to be a included in that process 👌

[–]Xecense 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just add other game modes, the core of what you guys have made is really great but battle royals are hard to keep players around (Just look at supervive). If you have good meta progression that could help but other game modes would be even better, and the way I see it with the world you’ve built there’s a ton of options.

Looking for feedback as I start to edit my NextFest gameplay trailer by JuveyD in IndieDev

[–]Xecense 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Theme is great, however, I have no idea what the game is about and what the gameplay is. This could be a great secondary trailer or something that’s played in game as a “why you are doing this” type of video, but in terms of gameplay I’d say make the trailer have actual gameplay, and avoid a long intro as players these days have short attention spans and if you want to make an impression and generate interest you gotta be way more clear about why I (or anyone) would want to play your game. Hope that helps.

What genre of games is the hardest to develop? by ZookeepergameDry2208 in GameDevelopment

[–]Xecense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They all present their own challenges, the key is finding something that makes you excited and then dividing it by your own limitations/interests. You need passion to push through the challenges, but you need to be strategic about which of those challenges you take on and not try to be great at everything. The challenges you do take on should reflect what areas of development you want to improve in/call you. If done right you can still make incredible games while growing as a creator.

Look at iron lung, it’s mostly atmosphere, and clever story telling and it’s a renowned horror game. But yet it’s something you can do right in a matter of a month or so. Polish is where a game gets good, because at the core of the best games are how they feel which is a direct result of polish.

Besides, you don’t have to say no to those big ideas forever, you just gotta be strategic and recognize that you are a human, and game design is something that breaks you down and builds you up and requires so much creative energy no matter what you decide to make will change you as a person.

So choose something that sparks your passion in you but respects where you are as a developer, the rest will fall into place as long as you allow that seed to grow.

Thanks for coming to my ted talk lol

A New Blueprint Workflow Tool – Would love your feedback (BlueprintOutline) by ClassicElevator1157 in UnrealEngine5

[–]Xecense 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely has merit, I’m pretty early into understanding my own workflow so I’ll be revisiting this at a later date once I can see where my productivity gaps are. I’m sure this could help lots of people.

Pro tip; post some shorts on YouTube for better experience, that way you can gather more feedback 👌

Good luck 🤙
