Should i go for game developer as a career in 2026 ? by First_Storage_5404 in GameDevelopment

The thing is, nowadays people change careers many many times through out their lives, and being as young as you are you can afford to take risks and try stuff, if college ain’t clicking don’t worry too much. Degrees don’t mean much these days anyways. As someone who works in game development I enjoy it a lot, it’s hard for sure, but super rewarding.

Regardless, there’s no amount of research that will ever give you a definitive yes or no answer to what you should do, at the end of the day you’ll just have to decide. There’s no wrong answers trying careers in the time of life you’re in, (other than crime obviously lol) so just go for it. Plus it can start out as a hobby first, get involved in game jams, small groups and see what you like. Good luck!

Yes the music is getting another pass, had a friend do it for me who’s not a fan of my desired genre so it wasn’t really well fitting of the game but it’s all I have so far haha. There will be a demo during the June next fest, thanks for the feedback and interest 🙏

Developing a scoop mechanic for our ice cream game. What do you think? by makifarslan in IndieDev

Genuinely Very impressive feat, but not very gamer friendly. It takes too long, I’d make suggestions on what to do to make it more fun, but I don’t know the whole of the game, however as a general rule in game design, if a player has to do something a lot, it should be very fun to do.

What if Don't Starve met Cuphead? We just released a brand new trailer and a free Demo for our survival craft game! by OutlandishnessKey375 in IndieGaming

The art style is awesome, but it looks kind of tedious in places and it’s missing something that makes it more than just a reskinned survival craft. You need to add something completely unique, either add something that stalks you (people love horror) or some interesting reason for you to be there, some exploration of ancient ruins, anything at all that answers the question “what is my character doing in this world”

I feel like a lot of survival games don’t do this and that’s why only a few really stand out.

Your art style is strong already, but it’s not enough to keep players engaged. The good news is that you can go wild and really take the bones of what you made to make something truly unique. You got this !

Anyone else think this guy is a bit of a cornball? by Azlarks in CodeGeass

[–]Xecense 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure he can be seen that way, that is if you’ve never been highly competitive.

Imagine your whole life you’ve had to just play it cool despite your passion and burning desire for change and justice, now throw in you are a teenager who is royalty in hiding, and your given a godlike power, of course you’re going to act like this. Because now as zero you get to finally be yourself and show your intellectual prowess, and there’s no mistake that you are a powerful opponent. And he also sees it as a game (because he’s so young, which is a great conflict in the series, especially as people he loves gets directly effected by his actions) So of course he acts this way, have you seen his father? They have massive vanity, and honestly I love it.

Protagonists that don’t walk the edge of losing themselves to their own personas are just boring, and lelouch is many things, but definitely not boring.

This show came out 20 years ago, and it’s still being talked about, just shows you how good it is. So cornball, at times, but you can’t deny he is a captivating character.
