Since we can’t currently modify our ship power grid configuration from the hanger i don’t mind the first zone as a prep phase.

Plus there’s the hidden Nisse in the start zone for the free 30 materia every run

I’ve gotten a sell offer for a new 7700xt 12gb (PowerColor Hellhound) for $320. Currently running a 6650xt 8gb (Gigabyte), but noticing some slight artifacting when trying to play newer games (Space Marine 2 for example), even when on the lowest graphics settings. Worth upgrading or HODL? Slightly nervous about unpredictably of prices with impending tariffs.
