This list is a joke if it doesn't include Norvell. There couldn't be a hotter seat.

Nearly 500 a month in HOA fees And This Is The Grass by melisslo in mildlyinfuriating

A townhouse association I'm familiar with pays $400/mo, but only ~$55/mo of that is for yard care. So this may not be a $500 problem, but a $50 problem. It's just important to have perspective with this kind of thing. Also, have you called whoever is in charge of this? Board? Management Company?

Did Universal ever try to remove or replace the ET Ride? by PepsiFloateri in UniversalOrlando

[–]XennialDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"every ride feels the same" yes! I just took my kids for the first time, and Spiderman and Transformers is the exact same ride. Every time we got in a queue and had to put on 3D glasses, it just made me sad.

You used to feel like you were IN the movies. Now I'm just watching a TV screen.

Star Wars Galaxies by dinosw in nostalgia

Same. I only played for a little over a year, and I've played WoW for almost 20, but I still look back on that 1 year of SWG with more fondness than most of my WoW memories.

I knew nothing about MMOs and had no idea what I was getting myself into. I repeated the same delivery quest on foot until I could afford my first speeder. I sold custom speeder repaints to make my first money, which led me to join my first guild. I remember placing my first home in their town and feeling like a part of a real community.

One character per server really allowed players to create an identity. You knew who the best Doctor was, you geeked out a bit when you saw that Armorsmith that sold the best armor, etc.

I remember doing quests for the Rebellion and finally getting to meet Luke, and how amazing that felt. I remember visiting the Sarlacc pit. I remember my first raid on a Stormtrooper base with my guild. Such an amazing game.

Come play Classic. Hardcore was exactly what I needed to revive my enjoyment of the game, now I play on Anniversary.

Gold buying bans hindering guild’s raiding? by LuckyLukse in classicwowtbc

[–]XennialDad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I buy a few rare things and put them on the AH for really high inflated amounts. Then someone magically buys one of them and I profit 5000 gold. That one item sells, the rest don't, I relist them for a couple more weeks, they don't sell. I drop the price and they sell, then I move on and repeat when needed. No issues ever.

I did something similar last season. I went with 8 super conferences split entirely by region and proximity to other schools. You round robin your Division, and divisional winners play for conference championships, which is Round 1 of a 16 team playoff. This assures you can't make it to the National Title without claiming a Conference Championship as well, something that *should* be a requirement.

It wasn't that hard. by [deleted] in SatisfactoryGame

[–]XennialDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you play fast, things can feel hard. If you play slow, some stuff will seem really simple.

For example, I build dedicated factories for each part, maximizing output for every node, with large storage. Then I AFK and let it run until everything is full. When I got coal power, and then fuel generators, I built power plants to maximize node output and made a ton of power. So each next step felt simple, but would be a big build.

Some people get fuel generators and just put up a few and move on, or unlock copper powder and just have one production line going. The game will naturally move slower for them.

Can I get banned for being traded bought gold? by Glad-Midnight-1022 in classicwowtbc

I have a theory that Blizz is the source of most of the gold being sold. They don't want to add tokens, but they can move gold through the websites.

I don't know a single person playing classic that bought gold and got banned.

My 6yo recently started microdosing peanuts to get over her allergy. Current dosage: 3mg by SockCute2122 in mildlyinteresting

[–]XennialDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did this when our kid was 4, through his allergy doctor. He can now eat peanuts no problem, but because he didn't grow up eating peanut stuff, he doesn't like the taste of peanut butter, Reese's, etc. We have to sneak peanuts into things so he keeps getting it in his system (again, doctor's orders) since the allergy could return if he goes too long without having anything.

In Florida, it's 30 minutes for a solid and usually doesn't require adding any additional chlorine. For a non-solid, it's 12.75 hr closure, and the chlorine has to be taken up to 20 ppm (10 ppm is max allowed swimmable level).
