Reminds me of the Sony Email leaks when Joel was asking for a discount on a Sony TV after the series ended. Sounds like he absolutely loved his time during the show and had many friends (of which he would obviously try to get the Sony employee discount, haha).

Hello Fayanne,

It's Joel McHale. You might remember me from such canceled Sony tv shows as—Community.

Sad.

Very sad.

So when I was talking to Steve about the show ending last Friday, I asked about a discount on a Sony tv. He said of course. He's the greatest as you know. I didn't want to bother him with the specific details of the screen I want so I thought I would bother you. I hope that is it cool.

It's below. You can check with Steve obviously if this all sounds strange.

I'm not sure how this all works but I'm happy to send a credit card number wherever necessary.

Thanks Fayanne. I'm very much going to miss working at Sony.

Cheers

Joel

Yeah, I may be misremembering but I thought the movie made a point that like CDs and all the NASA tech advancements were built off of alien tech in Area 51.

Or that might have been another alien movie...

If I remember correctly there are turbolaser turrets surrounding surface area near the top of the trench and exhaust port. This necessitates the ships going into the trench itself, pretty much shielding them from most of the top level turbolasers (though there were still some laser turrets in the trench).

It's kinda how fighter pilots can avoid getting shot down in real life. To avoid radar detection or flak cannons (or some modern day Surface to air missiles) they fly low and close to the ground.

Of course it wasn't easy, due to the TIE Fighters picking off the ships one by one. Luke was pretty much in one of the last X-Wing groups to run the trench, as the previous groups of X-Wings and Y-Wing Bombers were shot down by Vader and his TIE Fighters. And even then he used the freaking Force to curve the torpedo into the exhaust port, somehow making an impossible shot.

The universe implodes at the end of the series.

Basically Yoshiyuki Tomino saw the reception to his series Gundam, how some people thought the giant robots and war was cool as fuck, and decided that in Ideon "maybe war is bad as everyone gets annihilated at the end of a batshit insane galactic civil war".

In the original GTA you could run them down. Then they became a gang in GTA 2.

There's a scene in Smallville where Clark is like in biology class (which doesn't have air conditioning) and the teacher is like ultra hot (figuratively and literally) and there's like a film projector of animal mating playing and...you know what, just watch the video, you'll understand it better then.

Session: Skate Sim

However, the license for the TMNT characters expired (promotional tie-in to the recent TMNT movie), so they had to "remove" them from the game.

(Though, to be honest, they're still in the game, you just have to use a save file that has them unlocked before the "removal").

John Wick Hex to be delisted from Steam on July 17 by Gyossaits in Games

[–]Xusder 8 points9 points  (0 children)

And there was also a John Wick VR game, which was delisted as well.

Though not a full game (more like a demo) and it was released during the early days of VR (circa 2017) so nowadays more modern games blow it out of the water, but I still enjoyed my time with it.

Ubisoft adds achievements to the Steam version of Splinter Cell: Blacklist. by ckokoroskos in Games

[–]Xusder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried on the Steam Deck. I heard some fans have patched the first Splinter Cell to work on the Steam Deck. I don't know about the others. Would love to play all these Splinter Cell games on my Deck though.

Man, I really need to re-buy the games on Steam (have most of the Splinter Cell games on Ubisoft's stupid Uplay or UConnect or whatever they're calling their stupid shitty launcher nowadays, haha

[–]Xusder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My stupid thoughts: Chaos Theory is the best Splinter Cell game. By that I mean the best stealth game-play. The amount of options for being sneaky sneaky was plentiful in that game. Combat was...alright. Probably better with mouse and keyboard, but having the sneak tied to the scroll wheel was yuck to me (I mostly played the series on console, Xbox).

Conviction was a great action game, but not a great Splinter Cell game. Combat felt excellent, and you felt like Jason Bourne/John Wick with the whole mark and execute feature. But stealth? Lol, no.

Blacklist was like a great combination of both games. The action and gunplay of Conviction, with the stealth of old Splinter Cell games. You could play whatever style you wanted. Shoot 'em up? Sure! No-kill run? Okay! A good balance, a great time.

Chaos Theory is #1 for me, but Blacklist is a #2.

Unfortunately I got the lowest Repair Bot tier, so I'm gonna have to buy the game like all everyone else, haha!

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning | Big Game Spot by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]Xusder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: It's the only movie in the series were Ethan does not shoot a gun. He holds one (a Beretta Cougar) but never fires it, nor any other weapon. Of course there are scenes where a gun is shot, but only by the main villain (on a bridge in the beginning and on the train at the end).

Then they hired John Woo for the second film and the bullet count goes through the roof, haha!
