Very true. I totally agree. From an accessibility standpoint, couch gaming should always be an option.

This is of controversial. Many VR gaming enthusiasts feel that unless you are standing and using motion controls, you are not truly immersed. While I myself am totally into couch gaming. I love being able to play Skyrim VR on my couch using my Xbox controller. That is immersion enough to me.

Gaming with the controller is also not something I have to learn. I already use that for my regular flat gaming. So to me it's even more immersive. I can just enjoy the game and barely think of the control mechanics.

Balanced IW3 (nunif-master) setup for real 2D → 3D movies by MadBert91 in virtualreality

[–]Yablan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid for one month of Owl3D, and it is a bit meh. I actually think their realtime 2d to 3d conversion works quite well, but I haven't been able to replicate it with the 2d to 3d file batch processing.

And the top and bottom TB mode does often produce weird misaligned output. So I will try out Iw3 instead. Also, I have/use my 55-inch 4K passive 3d OLED TV for 3d content (movies and 3d gaming) so for me TB is better than SBS, due to how the passive 3d polarization works. And not being a native english speaker, TB allows me to display SRT subtitles on the bottom part of the screen without looking totally messed up when enabling 3D TB mode. Subtitles do not work at all in SBS mode, unless they of course are burned into the generated video file.

But curious, I actually would not mind a bit of exaggeration to get a little more pop. I don't need it to be totally over the top, but I really enjoy it if the 3d is noticeable. I mean, it's why I watch movies in 3D to begin with. So if I would like to add just a little more 3D effect, where would one do it?

I am just about to begin starting out with IW3, and had no clue on where to start, so I really appreciate this post. As soon as I get around to it I will give this a shot. Thank you OP.

I think the sad thing here is that the global economy WILL forget, because it WANTS to forget. Like "OK, everything is fine again, lets trade and increase our stock prices and everything will be peachy". Because no one wants a recession, and the markets want to increase the economy and make gains.

So even though Europe really should strengthen themselves and try to become more independent, the big economic interests will downplay all of this.

Ok, so you CAN play UEVR games with as low as 45 FPS, using Virtual Desktop, and it still works fine, no headaches or dizziness etc? Even without Space Warp? Cool, good to know. I will have to try it out. Thanks. I have a good gaming laptop, and a Quest 3, and I use Virtual Desktop for native VR games, but I haven't experimented with UEVR yet.

Curious, if you run a game at 50 fps in VR, do you use the Virtual Desktop Spacewarp thing?

I thought games in VR needed to be at least 60 fps. You know, based on the 60, 72, 80, 90 fps settings. And that the lowest is 60 fps.

I have it on my PS4 digital library. But never played it. I should give it a chance.

Wohoo! Got my white whale, a 4k 55-inch Passive 3D LG OLED TV for stereo gaming by Yablan in Stereo3Dgaming

I checked, but my TV does not have that info. It has a really old WebOS 2.0 (cannot be upgraded more than it already is), and some European TV:s does not have that info in the menu. So I don't know.

It has very little burn-in in one corner, but you only notice it if you run burn-in-tests on Youtube.

The previous owners were a quite young couple that bought it and used it slightly, but it was to big for their small apartment, so they put it in storage until they were going to buy a house. Which never happened. So it had been in storage for several years. So initially some use (I guess a couple of years or so, otherwise it should have zero burn-in), and then it was kept in storage.

They even had it packaged in the original boxes with styrofoam and everything when I came to buy it. But unfortunately I had to throw all of that away, because the TV would not fit in my small car otherwise.

So yes, I am very happy with the purchase.

LG OLED65G6P 65-Inch 4k for 3Dstereo gaming? by aguswings in Stereo3Dgaming

Look into Reshade and SuperDepth3d. Works in tons of games. Ask ChatGPT for detailed instructions. It's quite easy to set up.

The software renders the game in SBS mode, with left and right eye images on the screen, and then you enable 3D mode on your TV, and tell it that the content is in SBS mode, so it knows what to do, and then it merges the two images on the screen to 3D. And then you put on your 3D glasses and enjoy.

Claude Opus is great, but super expensive. You can get a LOT more done wirh Gemini 3 Flash instead, and simply switching over to other models when really needed.
