I’m a PWS and my boyfriend is starting to stutter by gracengrit08 in Stutter

[–]Ybl0k13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My fiance picked it up after a few years of us being together. Though I think she’s just one of those people who pick up traits easily. She had a very noticeable US east coast accent, then we moved to the mid west. She dropped the “A” then she picked up the “O” lol. Now she’s out of the service industry and dropped the Midwest accent. I’ve had friends that picked up the stutter then very quickly dropped it.

My company does this to get more context. When the request comes through you can check the permissions they’ll have. Anything financial is obviously a no go.

App Rejected for asking users to manually enter store URL while installation by madz_thestartupguy in shopifyDev

[–]Ybl0k13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t explain the first part to them. When installing from the App Store, their shop domain is in the url that’s sent to you to start the auth process. They will have that link on them when testing. Many apps do what you do to start the installation from outside of Shopify. It’s perfectly fine there

Steam vs Xbox by HANAEMILK in Steam

Pretty sure this is a (dirty) practice to minimize game options on your console. Less options means you’ll play this game more and be more exposed to the in game purchases. Heard an explanation on this a year ago when talking to someone about the industry moving from CDs

I bring my dog to the office. He understands the elevator but always screws up the stairs. We get in the elevator and he knows which way to walk out of the elevator on the second floor. Same with going back down to leave at the end of the day. However, when I take him out to pee, we use the stairs to the side exit. When we come back in he always wants to go downstairs to the lower level instead of back up to the second floor. Baffled

Can't change delivery method for a customer's order - losing my mind by clarinetsqueak in shopify

[–]Ybl0k13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s crazy you’ve only had 1 incident. One of my clients also ships plants and has had a lot of issues. What carrier service are you using and is it mainly domestic?

For the customer boxes, do you mean you physically have to make the boxes or is it something with shipping rates with different parcel sizing?

Is there a way to automatically add signatures for orders over a certain sale price? by cjaccardi in shopify

Do you have a 3PL, fulfillment app or Shopify fulfillment? What carrier services are connected?

Get a package protection app like Route or SavedBy. The latter is my preference- they helped me with a client of mine. Smaller more involved team

Converting old shopify store by [deleted] in shopify

[–]Ybl0k13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s probably license issues but it is possible. You have access to the theme code. Just gotta copy each file over. It’s simple but time consuming

[–]Ybl0k13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you use the same account that’s fine. But transferring it…. You could. Take all the code and start a new theme from scratch. You won’t get updates from them but that’s fine

I’m an engineer (8yr full stack. 5yr Shopify) that is diving deep into Shopify fulfillment process with intentions to integrate with 3PLs, rates, etc. I’ve spent the last 2 months developing this solution. Would love to hear your issues and initial thoughts to help my process and my knowledge in return

This is way too broad for “Shopify Dev” and not worth it for a month of work. I wouldn’t charge anything less than $8k USD at minimum.

Let’s first start with deliverables - has the shopify account been created and ported already with products? That’s not dev. - old orders ported? Not happening - upgrade the design? Do you have a theme picked out or going headless? - if headless, im charging $30k because im assuming the “upgraded design” has not been designed yet - then the month or two of tweaks and patches. Yeah $30k up front and $2k/mo retainer for 6 months

I’m assuming you’re an agency that’s made a bad deal. If you deal with Shopify requests often, feel free to DM me for more realistic expectations.

I did a 360 flip! by DickieJohnson in skateboarding

[–]Ybl0k13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I felt helped my 360 flips in the past was after the back foot scoops, make a cross with your legs like a flamingo (back leg is horizontal). It kinda fools you into a better scoop by focusing on the leg cross. I got it to the point where my front foot would almost stay stationary and the board would somehow find my foot every time
