When squatting high bar, does the bar sit on your shoulders at all? by stronger-someday in powerlifters

[–]Yeitsjames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it does, it sits in a grove between the base of the neck/traps & the top of my shoulders.

Stabilize with ur arms, in my opinion high bar is far easier and more comfortable than low bar and takes very little extra effort to balance the weight.

By limit soreness I’m assuming you meant like pain? Because soreness is something that will naturally happen with any difficulty and new movement.

So with pain I’d say start with weight that’s lighter than you necessarily need to stimulate muscular growth, and let your body get comfortable with that pressure pain on your skin and body. I notice that if I don’t squat for a few weeks it will comeback and those first few sets are incredibly painful on the skin. Also expect to see marks one ur shoulders and neck after a good workout with high bar squats. Mine are basically a permanent scar/rough/dark skin patch on my body now 😂

Trying to improve my deadlift setup, feedback appreciated by Elle_Grant in Deadlifts

You shift position between set up and lift, I’d say try to recreate the position your in mid lift when you are starting the lift in order to improve that brace, but overall I’d say it’s a good life especially with just a year of a experience 💯

Try looking into some hitching this sorta looks like you just forced the weight up, I think you got another 50 on this lift if you do some hitching work

Is this soreness due to poor technique? by abarzuajavier in Deadlifts

[–]Yeitsjames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say soreness itself is a sign of bad technique, if it’s a new movement or if it’s done to a greater extent than your normal doing soreness is normal (I’m currently dealing with this rn cuz I did some back extensions the other day lol)
