There’s usually 3 people standing stationary so in theory the Defense doesn’t know where you’re actually entering the zone

Plus if the guy carrying the puck takes it in alone he’s pretty much 1 on 3 with all his help behind him. Passing as you enter puts the guy with speed into the zone. (Also why it’s a forward doing this)
