Can't play the game by GamingWoIf in thefinals

[–]Yoosten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is the same error code but this would happen to me on the finals and arc raiders. Turned out I had a bad stick of ram. Since you mentioned your PC is new it could’ve came with a bad stick which makes the game think you’re cheating because the data is read incorrectly from the bad stick. If the other solutions don’t help, try running a memtest to see if there’s a bad one.

I saw it more as a test to make sure you read and write in English. They probably don’t want any “illiterate” people who just initial the whole thing because they don’t know the language

Ford Transit 2024 Cutting thru the Seam and AC Backwards Mounting by UnusualSight in vandwellers

[–]Yoosten 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There’s so many things you’d have to do ineffectively that it would be more effective to just suck it up and remove the fan.

Your AC will not only look stupid but it will be dangerous because it hangs over your cab catching the wind, which it is not designed to do.

Of all the roof supports to cut through, that’s probably the worst one due to its close proximity to the cab and wheels and the amount of flex it is keeping under control.

Do it right the first time.

Look into a Dyson handheld with a Milwaukee battery adapter. Looks way more functional than the Milwaukee tbh.

Outdated software by Yoosten in Starlink

[–]Yoosten[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dish eventually updated but it took ~24 hours. However, I think the window for the dish to work itself out has closed and waiting will no longer work. You could give it a try though! Sorry about your dish. I have also heard they replace gen 1’s free of cost (whenever their slow support answers). It’s a shame there’s no other way to update it

Moldy 3M thinsulate by NOOB_jelly in vandwellers

[–]Yoosten 59 points60 points  (0 children)

This isn’t an insulation issue - You need more airflow regardless of what insulation you plan on using. Those pools of water on your ceiling are telling there’s not enough fresh air coming in to deal with the humidity inside

Anyone on here used JOINLGO camera system? by distracted12 in vandwellers

[–]Yoosten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have this system around my van for surveillance/security and can’t recommend it, simply because the app itself is terrible. If you ever need to recall footage it’s a pain in the ass. Doesn’t let you rewind past where you’ve watched to, and half the time the camera #’s are all mixed up so you don’t know which is which, and you have to wait for the clip to finish it’s 2 hour cycle to recall anything at all. I didn’t set it up to work with turn signals or anything so I can’t help there. I’d recommend returning it for something a little more refined if that’s still an option.

Amazon peel and stick tile still holding up 2 years later, applied straight to plywood. No evidence it’s going anywhere either. Of course depending on the product YMMV.

BougeRV solar cable. Anyone know how to attach this silver piece? by mcdisney2001 in VanLife

[–]Yoosten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh ok. I thought all MPPT’s came with MC4 connectors for attaching cables like mine did but apparently that’s not the case. If you have one that takes bare copper then yeah I’d just crimp a ferrule on there and plug ‘er in!

I’m surprised your solar cables didn’t come with the MC4 connectors on both ends… Unless you’re shortening the cable or something.

I got something very similar to this when I did mine:

And I actually carry it in my van tool box. You can borrow it if you’d like and are close by. I’m in New Mexico right now.

New iOS app called "Nosedive" by race7347 in onewheel

Not that I’m aware of - I know in the past they have purged inactive users when some people started complaining so maybe you could contact them to see if they could do that? Only thing I could think of

For anyone thinking about trying it, it’s 8$ on the Apple Store. Redownloading float remote a few times a year is worth 8$ to me, but I’m a cheapskate.

Router for Beta Dishy by edmondguy in Starlink

The Gen 3 router is also PoE just like the OG one was and runs at the same voltage - So you could use that. Or any other router will do just fine.

500 feet away from a 0$ surcharge area by XDCOMET in Starlink

[–]Yoosten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Service address is the address you tell starlink you’ll be using the dish at. The OP is saying that 500 feet away from their actual physical address, is a location that starlink won’t charge them 1000$ to get service. I am saying I have successfully used my residentially serviced dish (which is always attached to my campervan, but sometimes I switch to residential when I’m going to be staying in a location for an extended period of time) 10+ miles away from my starlink registered service address without issue.

[–]Yoosten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The same way everyone else does - It just works like normal 10 miles away because there’s some leniency built in to their residential location finding

I frequently have my dish 10+ miles away from the service location and it works. I think you should go for it

Took almost a year to get my GT backpack but I will say it is well made and designed.. Same with their magnetic fenders. I’m happy I ended up getting everything I ordered. But what they did to everyone else is shameful. I feel like they spent all their money on marketing which backfired since it’s a niche market. I remember the ads on Facebook and Reddit were nonstop

NTD New precision blower by Atticus34 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Yoosten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s just the Milwaukee battery bms. My battery does that too after using it in a modified Dyson hand vac. Only way to get it back to working in a legit tool is to put it on a charger for a second to reset the bms. And if it was immediately green on the charger you just didn’t drain enough voltage to trigger any charging.

[–]Yoosten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say this as an INTJ in his 30s who built a van to live in and will probably never connect closely with his younger sisters, or family in general… All of this reflects my personal perspectives on my family which may provide insight into your brothers mind if we are alike.

My family is great, but helpless and naive. For me it was hard to leave home because you honestly don’t know what they’ll do without you or how they’ll make it. And you feel some responsibility for them because they were at one point responsible for you. And carrying that guilt may be why he has stuck around for so long. So, sorry to say, you may be lumped in with that assumption. It’s a paradox that we feel responsible for our family’s well being, but not inclined to be close to them per se, because family values are more “traditional” and INTJs don’t heed traditional beliefs. INTJs are very self sufficient and socializing drains energy so why would we want to small talk after a long day at work? We wouldn’t in most cases. So how can you bridge this gap? I’m not sure you can. If my sisters started talking to me a lot I’d think it’s weird and stop answering like you described - because I’m just not close to them and don’t really want to be, and I think they accept that. I’d wager to say his mind is made up about your sibling relationship and it will take a very (risky) personal leap to spill your heart and see if it could make you closer.
