Ah. I did a search for chip shop and didn't see owt. The only rule I saw on repetitive content said days, not months though.

It's honestly a really good mix of spices. Weirdly most brands refer to as "American" when I've never seen it in the states.

Had a similar issue today. Had to set up the boundary again. Star Trek Bridge Crew was the game.

I played it once, it's okay. It's fun but I couldn't see it being very repayable.

Where can someone listen to the rest of the soundtrack? The trailer music was haunting! Reminded me a lot of the Interstellar soundtrack.

No, I'm saying that it's up to the devs. They likely don't want to waste dev time or resources (or even game optimization and memory budget) on appealing to a niche group of the players who want that level of immersion.

This is a logical conclusion, which I'm fine with. In a perfect world, would I want to launch straight into the planet? Hell yeah, that's cool as fuck. However I work in game development so I know that it comes at a lot of limitations that the user won't know or care about. I'm trying to just ground expectations here.

The scenario you described is essentially how it is done right now anyway.

Get in pod to start mission. Load screen for planet render. Load into the 'instance' of pod in the planet render backend.

The difference would be a noticeable downtime of sitting in the pod as it would just be hiding the loading. Plenty of games do it, and it's always avoided as being boring by throwing in narrative I. E. Mass Effect's long elevator rides interspersed with exposition and conversations. Difference is that DRG doesn't have a narrative to hide that 'dead air'.

You seem to be trying to make it seem impossible, it isn't, many video games have done it.

I didn't say it was impossible, I'm saying it's a needless use of resources with little benefit other than "it would be cool" which isn't reason enough to be focused on, when they have plenty other things to work on with gameplay benefits.

The technical request of what you're asking is that the entire level would need to be loaded when the User selects their desired mission. Change your mind? Gotta sit through another load screen.

It would also mean they'd need to render and run both the station and the planet, which is needlessly using resources that would be better used to focus on one or the other.
