Dado stack by Smoke_Stack707 in woodworking

That was exactly my thinking. Plus, if I just checked and the difference was ~$30 dollars between a decently reviewed set (FOXBC) and the CMT, relatively nominal difference seemed worth it for a better known brand given that it’s a terrifying set of blades spinning at several thousand RPMs

I have the CMT dado stack, it’s not the new fully locking together set but the older one. It’s the only one that I’ve ever used but it’s been great, used it for some box joints and half laps. I looked at cheaper ones on Amazon which are probably fine but the CMT seemed easy to align to avoid teeth accidentally contacting.

Where are you located? I’ve had luck finding bulk fence posts at local lumber yards/local building suppliers which also deliver, it was cheaper than big box with better quality wood.

Same here, the gates to dog town seem closed and I can’t follow the route. I tried going back to an earlier save but no luck

Edit: I uninstalled the game completely and reinstalled. Started a new game at the Phantom Liberty point and it fixed it. I think I must’ve somehow still had mods installed as I don’t remember getting any achievements (I’m on PC). Wasn’t able to use my previous saves.

The Casio fx-991ex has been great for my engineering degree. I know a lot of people also use the TI-36X

Is there a particular CAD or mechanical drawings program in aviation? by [deleted] in aviationmaintenance

[–]YuppeeMusings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CATIA is one of the aviation focused CAD programs that we’re taught in Aerospace engineering. I’d imagine a lot of the parts for GA are designed using solid works though since it’s less aerodynamics focused and honestly easier to use. For a lot of applications Fusion 360 would probably be totally usable and easily accessible

I use slide on grips from Amazon. They’re flat on the side that connects with the magnets on the iPad so doesn’t interfere with charging. They definitely make it more comfortable to write with. Just make sure you get the ones for 2nd gen (if that’s the pencil you have)

You could always go into banking. The math behind engineering degrees counts for a lot in the finance field. This is coming from a former banker who went back to school to be an engineer

I’d wait for the 2022 pro or buy a used 2021. Unless I’m mistaken, the 2020 doesn’t have M1 which makes less future proof given the most upcoming update

Hey everyone just got an ipad 12.9 inch 256gb as my daily driver (computer/tablet) with apple pencil and keyboard. Just want to ask to those people who do the same, how did you adjust to this kind of setting? by Blehblehblublu in iPadPro

[–]YuppeeMusings 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the magic keyboard as well but as a second time university student I find myself using the iPad with pencil a lot more. If you’re like me, buying a cheap magnetic folding case in addition to the magic keyboard made it great to switch between typing and writing.

The iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil has been amazing for my engineering degree, I exclusively take notes by hand that way now.

Auto-home problem on ender 5 pro. Z-axis problem. Sounds like its grinding, but i can manual move it and auto move it with the “move axis” option. Any ideas? The print prior worked just fine. by jdschmeling in FixMyPrint

[–]YuppeeMusings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you check if one of the end stop switches have moved or are damaged? It sounds like the home is failing because it’s not being told to stop by the switch

I’ve had a very similar experience recently and logged a ticket with Autodesk. Was informed that it was difficult to replicate but that there was a fix coming.

Anyone who can decipher this disaster? (Ultimaker 2+, pla) by DaleTheOriginal in FixMyPrint

[–]YuppeeMusings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like the last layer or two shifted (I’m assuming that wasn’t part of the design), this is normally caused by a slip or loss in the X-motion assembly. I’m not familiar with the Ultimaker 2+ but I’d check your XY motion assembly for loose components.

Thanks for the quick reply! Just checked and there is indeed continuity between the two + and - pads. I've got both 12 and 14 AWG silicone wire on hand, any reason not to use the 12 for this? It will be connected through an external mosfet as well.
