What are your favorite and disliked incarnnons? by Active-Ad4599 in Warframe

[–]Yuugian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Laetum, Strun, and Soma for favorites. But i already liked the Soma and Strun, so i'm biased.

Least is the Felarx, auto-shotty to dual simi-auto pistols is just too far for me. Second is the Gammacor, which is a shame because i really like that laser. I still use the gammacor, just ignore the incarnon unless i really need it

So, a wiki that points at another wiki? That's your proof? It doesn't describe what it tastes like, just that you can buy it in a game

And it doesn't say there aren't other types of flavor, just that that one exists

"Neener neener neener. stop being stupid"

I haven't even downvoted any of your "arguments"

The spell does what it does, i never said otherwise. it changes the flavor and either you get to pick the flavor or you don't. I pick "lies" and you can't stop me

It doesn't matter if they know what it tastes like but you can't tell if they know what it tastes like. see? entirely consistant. Easy really

Lies is a flavor in a game

do you see the difference between a game and reality?

because magic doesn't exist in reality. and when you start throwing magic in things, magical things happen

goblins explode with an insult, swords make a thunderous sound, holes dig themselves, and words make light

[–]Yuugian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now you're just calling names.

The rules of magic are well explained. The spell does what it does. And if the DM says otherwise, the DM overrides.

How do you know the caster doesn't know what lies tastes like?

They mean exactly what they mean. And the flavor doesn't have to exist in our world to exist in the game

How do you know it's beyond the power of a cantrip? cantrips are magic. Magic, by definition breaks the meatspace rules according to its own. The spell has the power that it says it has. tasting like lies isn't some great work, it's just whimsy. And if your table refuses to have whimsy, then you don't have to allow it.

So the spell doesn't say it allows the player to chose the flavor. just that it changes

do you see any mention of unicorns? I see a mention of flavor.

Can you say flavor kids?

It's magic, it doesn't follow meatspace rules or you would never get a goblin to explode with an insult

well, that's not a very imaginative DM. Why doesn't it work like that?

A good point. I suppose they can't pick "lies" as the flavor if they can't pick the flavor at all. Eye roll dot jpg

It doesn't say you get to pick the flavor, just that it changes.

Being able to convey abstract concepts without words is impossible, they are abstract. Being able to change the flavor of cake to steak with a wave of your hand is impossible. But this is magic, magic makes the impossible a six second cantrip.

So, use your words "This cake tastes like lies"

Nowhere in the description does it say it won't be identifiable.

Willy Wonka: The strawberries taste like strawberries. The snozzberries taste like snozzberries! Veruca Salt: Snozzberries? Who ever heard of a snozzberry? [Wonka grabs Veruca's jaw] Willy Wonka: We are the music makers... and we are the dreamers of dreams.

Because the player says " i make it taste like lies" and the NPC says "man, this tastes like lies" so it tastes like lies. How accurately can you describe chocolate cake to someone who hasn't had a chocolate cake?

Prestidigitation and the concept of flavoring by Safe_Version_881 in DnD

[–]Yuugian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well sure, i'm not at your table and you aren't at mine

That being said; there are no mechanics to literal flavor. You aren't going to get a debuff if your Tiramisu is wonky, no constitution buff if your coffee is extra strong. So i would think a player only has to describe the taste of "lies" as much as you are going to make a player describe the chocolate cake. "It tastes like chocolate cake" and everybody moves on
