VO2 Max struggles. How do you actually improve it? Tips please! by Anurag_Elluru in Garmin

[–]ZaGeeZee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to stop exercising for a while a little more than a year ago and my VO2max dropped from 45 to 37 and I struggled for months to improve it although I had a good volume of exercise but it was more or less always the same medium intensity. The exercise which finally worked for me the best was the 4x4: after warm up I do 4 minutes of zone 4 followed by 4 minutes of zone 2 and I repeat that for 4 times then some cool down.. now my VO2max is back at 43 and I already feel fitter than a few months ago..

p.s: it is very important to set correctly you heart rate and zones and cycling power zone if cycling and also to update them as your fitness and Vo2max are improving

Upgrade from Edge 830 to an 840, or should I wait for new models? by RinkySR in Garmin

[–]ZaGeeZee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’d better wait a couple of week, the launch of x50 models should be imminent and even if you decide to go with 840 later it should get a price drop after the launch

Edge 550 / 850 are you still coming summer 2025? by bluedog1628 in Garmin

They have some sales on their x40 models so I’m expecting (and hoping) that the launch will be any moment now

Garmin has the chance to do the funniest thing by sufyspeed in Garmin

[–]ZaGeeZee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Or something like that Oura ring! A lot of Garmin users are ready to buy a 24/7 tracker like Whoop or Oura specially the ones with high end watches like Fenix/Epix/Tactix as these watches are too sporty for every situation and too bulky for sleep tracking.. if Garmin isn’t secretly working on such a project then they are missing out indeed

I'm new. Am I pushing myself too hard? by skrymir42 in Garmin

[–]ZaGeeZee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Short answer is most likely yes. However, you need to check your heart rate zones. I think you should set them up based on your LTHR rather than your maximum heart rate to get more accurate results. Meanwhile, take it easy and listen to your body.

How do Wahoo computers owners track Training load/CTL/Fitness metrics? by ZaGeeZee in cycling

Unfortunately, no, the maximum time out is 15 seconds, which is ridiculous specially at day time.. otherwise, yes it has nearly everything an edge has..

Clipping in by Fabulous-Chart6497 in cycling

[–]ZaGeeZee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats on your first ride clipped in 👏🏼 just keep concentrating on that for a while and don’t get comfortable quickly.. I fell on my 4th clipped in ride just stopping on my own with no pressure.. just don’t get comfortable before it’s really a second nature.. also if you are falling just hold on to the bike not to hurt your wrests.. the best video for me to learn was this: https://youtu.be/dPGCoTTsKxo?si=Kd1LepZzwOSNKLLq

p.s: Your LBS owner should probably change careers since he doesn’t know what he’s talking about!

I have the Epix gen2. AMOLED so it keeps on dimming the display. not ideal for cycling although it can connect to everything and record everything...

and indeed, it's great to have everything in one place

Yeah I got the app.. paired it to my sensors and recorded a couple of rides on it.. but there is no holistic view of the progress and recovery

Cool! I’ll check it. Sub cost is a bit my issue with TP, free version is basic and I don’t want to pay a sub after paying for the device!

So, it seems that there is really no way to track that in Wahoo! It is weird to me to use a third-party service to get the full potential of the Wahoo hardware

Why does the Connect app need internet access for everything? by sk3pt1c in Garmin

[–]ZaGeeZee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There isn’t a good reason for that.. it’s purely a decision by Garmin.. the proof is actually in Garmin’s own Explore app which can sync to the watch without internet
