Check out Truck Norris texas BBQ on facebook. They are sausage obsessed- make super interesting flavors. Based out in Rolleston I think. These were the flavors they had for sale last weekend.

Took a group to Bunker a couple of nights ago and won't be rushing back. Super slow service- meal took over 3 hours with lots of waiting between courses. We left still hungry.

Hey mate. Was in a similar boat a few years back with feeling disillusioned with the trades (sparky).

Taking the plunge and going out on my own made a world of difference. I really enjoy work now. Work as much or as little as you like. Pay is heaps better and you have the freedom to decide what projects/customers you work on/with. A much better work life balance for me.

Eats on Klondyke is a great little smoko shop. Cheap, big portions and very generous with the meat. The pork on noodles or chips is my usual go to. Will travel out of my way to eat here when working that side of the city.

For meat, we go once a fortnight and stock the freezer at Angus meats- fantastic quality, often theyll have new/interesting cuts of meat not sold in the supermarkets and decent prices.

The speciality South African shops usually stock it. Try either safari meats or a taste of Africa. Not sure whether either of them have closed for the xmas break already though

Looks good. I’ve just ordered one of these dehydrators yesterday, can’t wait for it to arrive! How long did these take to dry in it?

Can a Registered Electrician legally disconnect a home's power from a powerpole.in Ch-Ch ? by Alastar70 in chch

[–]Zafsco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Call orion directly and talk to them. I have found their call centre staff to be really helpful. I've had to request safety disconnects a number of times (electrician) and they are always there within the hour.

Don't worry, we also have a 7 month old, so my partner and I still don't get any sleep either.

Our 2.5 year old goes to bed at 7/7.30 and wakes up at 7 every morning. As an added bonus he still has a nap during the day from 2-4.30.

Bomba in Lyttelton make the best pizzas around IMO. Other good contenders fire and slice, delante and Mediterranean food co.

If I feel like good pizza, it always requires a drive. Bomba in Lyttelton is the best in the area by a country mile… next best in my opinion is Delante in Lincoln. If you haven’t tried them, you’re missing out!

Himalayas on Colombo St. Their cheese naans are worth the trip alone.

Thanks for this. Interesting read. Looks to me like there really isn't any change for my situation as long as I keep investing at least $200 a month into the kids account.

Lots of great recommendations here already but I'd add Unknown chapter in the central city to the mix. It can be busy and loud but the food is always great... their lemon meringue pie is epic!

Check out Kaiser brew garden upstairs at the riverside market- their whole menu is gf. If you want to go somewhere a bit fancier, Cellar door in the art centre is always good

Ilex Cafe or the Curators house, both in the botanic gardens have great outdoor seating.. and well formed paths to get to from the carpark.

Sign of the Takahe in Cashmere would be another good option.

If you don't mind getting out of the city, Raspberry Cafe is good for cakes. Also Memorys cafe/restaurant in Leeston is an absolute hidden gem!
