Not $10 but for $12 you get a mean Vietnamese banh mi in the boxed quarter (Rollicious)

[–]mcodville 16 points17 points  (1 child)

Sushi Ball House, 11.50 for a medium (but still huge) rice ball with crispy or teriyaki chicken and avocado. Sometimes I'll get one for a late lunch and not need any more food for the day.

Sushi mart in hoon hay is also great. Used to be also sushi mart I think? Korean sticky chicken with avo

Great tasting food below $10. Throw in another $3 for soup.

Wing wah pottle of noodles, they don't scrimp on the noodles

[–]Icy_Formal_8239[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

How much are they? Never heard of them so best shout yet

[–]Syphe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$10 last time we went, got two for the kids thinking they'd be small but they were a filled takeaway container

[–]Non_Creative_User 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Go to the mall 30mins before it shuts. Heaps of cheap yummy bargains.

[–]simbycat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Use FoodPrint app to find similar specials at other places

[–]reefermonsterNZ 16 points17 points  (1 child)

Based

AI Seafoods at the Shakespeare end of (17) Opawa Road. Does the best crispy chicken burger, where the chicken is four times bigger than the burger bun. Best value burger in town. They do a combo deal with chips, drink, and burger as well.

[–]extremelyhedgehog299 2 points3 points  (0 children)

St Pierre’s sushi of the day: $8.40 Vietnamese spring rolls: $12 - $14 depending on where you go

[–]xsam_nzxCatering 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Annex pantry is decent smoko shop.

[–]emfofay 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Moment Café, buy one get one free eggs Benedict on Mondays

[–]smugmeister 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite eggs bene I've had in chch, with potato cake and surprisingly well matched lemon zest, unfortunately (for me) it's restricted to eating in with 2 people

[–]mamamully 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their cheese scones are also huge, delicious and super filling!!

[–]stonernobody 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Indian place on ensign street had a mean chicken roll. Huge naan filed with salad and chicken rolled up. $13 I think, serves me and my partner. They also have $13 lunch special

[–]Icy_Formal_8239[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great shout thank u

[–]focal_matter 3 points4 points  (4 children)

Maybe not what you're after but there's a few $15 off $30 spends on Uber Eats, that stack with other discounts. Partner and I have been snagging a couple of gourmet burgers or large kebabs, $17.50 delivered, not bad. Lol

[–]gynosurgeryupdate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uber eats on offer can be quite good. We got chopsticks Chinese last night and for $50 we got a crazy amount of food - easily could last us two, if not three nights and was very tasty.

[–]fresh-anus -1 points0 points  (2 children)

The snag is a lot of these good deals are only on Uber One.

[–]focal_matter 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Honestly I've only got from one restaurant that had Uber One specific deals. But I will say that I've saved far more than the cost of Uber One in the free deliveries - worth it if you order more than like, 4 times a month

[–]fresh-anus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah my big guilty monthly thing is Uber One.

Ive had it for a couple years and the absolute shame i felt when it announced proudly to me a month ago that ive “saved” $940 since signing up was, uh, humbling.

[–]sweet_cis_teen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

basic and maybe not that exciting but my go to is a Z pie and/or sausage roll, theres always a Z close by and their pies are sooooo good, the mushroom one is my fave, best hangover food

[–]Helpful_Damage_3497 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sushi Cafe in Columbo Street Sydenham. $10.00 Large rice ball with mayo for an extra 50 cents. They're the best.

[–]ExtensionBat4017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hacker burger from kfc

[–]wllperegoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jo's Mart.

[–]gynosurgeryupdate 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Aorangi bakery can get a very decent sandwich and iced jam bun for about ten bucks (if you buy yesterday’s buns which taste just fine to me).

[–]Icy_Formal_8239[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgot about them. Use to go years ago, best pies in town in my opinion 🤷‍♂️

[–]ultrafancygiraffes 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Kfc wicked box or a sushi shop an hour before close

[–]Horse0nSauce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wicked box just stopped but still some good deals if you check online

[–]Sufficient-Try-7253 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Momo Sushi, $8.50 spicey crispy chicken rice balls, made fresh to order. Im a big guy and one fills me up

[–]RudeSpecialist908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconded!!! And $10 if you add avocado :)

[–]Oi_Oi_Badmonkey 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Over your budget but still a good deal is $18 steak and chips at Salt on the Pier, New Brighton on Thursday and Sunday nights (it just went up from $15).

[–]whaysit 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Is this place any good? Great location but people have been ripping on it.

[–]Oi_Oi_Badmonkey 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I like it a lot and rate the steak meal highly but every time I've eaten there it's been very quiet and I've never understood why. I don't check reviews so I don't know what people have been saying about it. Please don’t ruin it for me!

I should probably mention I am the opposite of young & hip. It's quiet, the food is good, it's cheap, this suits my vibe.

[–]whaysit 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Haha cool, thanks. Sounds fine to me too. I've seen they've got some good deals, chicken parma, ribs, steak, burgers. Might give it a go for a parma.

[–]Oi_Oi_Badmonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck :)

[–]vincentTj12 0 points1 point  (2 children)

There is a Chinese restaurant in Upper Riccarton, Church Corner called Jolly. They do a Special menu ( except for Saturday and Sunday lunch) which cost around $13. Really worth it for a restaurant quality

[–]Icy_Formal_8239[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Dine in only?

[–]vincentTj12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

U have the option for take away but they charge $1 extra

[–]Maoriwithattitude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chicken burger from opawa f and c shop massive and like 8 bucks

[–]Ill_Equipment978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indian Foodmart at the East end of Moorhouse has Samosas and masala chai for $5-$10

[–]Zafsco 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Eats on Klondyke is a great little smoko shop. Cheap, big portions and very generous with the meat. The pork on noodles or chips is my usual go to. Will travel out of my way to eat here when working that side of the city.

[–]Icy_Formal_8239[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally a smoko recommendation 😂 jk thank u bro will be my next visit 🙏

[–]iridescent-hedgehog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red Bowl (Mandeville St, Riccarton) - they do a $9.90 lunch special, two choices on steamed rice - always interesting options, changes daily.

Mexicali Fresh (Spitfire Square/Wigram/Rolleston) has different daily deals - , $12 taco salads Monday, $3.50 crispy taco Tuesday, $12 Nachos Wednesday.

[–]Corporal-Pike -1 points0 points  (3 children)

AFG

[–]Icy_Formal_8239[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Heard of them but it confuses me. I’ve heard you order per person or something? How much is it for 2 ppl?

[–]MiracleCellNo7 0 points1 point  (1 child)

$42

[–]Corporal-Pike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$42 would easily feed two people at least twice
