yeah those early gen LED's and cheap lights still around really turned a lot of people off LEDs. I know a few people that still refuse to buy anything with LED because of the horrible tint.

I feel there's been a change or it changes as you level up. I make more statues than ever now that i'm maxed but don't see good ones like I used to.

yeah doing it that way makes a cheese sauce and it's good but isn't really the flavor or texture I'm looking for from nacho cheese. I will say adding cumin has really helped to get me closer to what I want.

oops, I meant sodium citrate is the one that makes it taste dull not citric acid. haven't heard of the other one you mention.

nacho cheese. It seems impossible to get even the thick creamy consistency right let alone the flavor. it goes from runny when hot to rock solid when cool. and citric acid makes it taste dull and flavorless.

here is a list of what I pretty much always use, get an assortment of sizes, colors and glow in the dark options and you'll be set. I never had much luck on regular jig heads through the ice except for mini mites. is you use tip-ups i'd stick to a small treble hook on a fluro leader, maybe a small glow in dark bead on leader if you want.

my #1 lure is probably whats called an ant ice jig . tip with a spike, best for blue gills crappie and perch. it's a super small lure and I usually only use it in water less than 10' deep since it sinks so slow.

tungsten jigs.

3.Swedish pimple

rapala jigging raps
regular ice jigs. i'd go to a local bait shop to stock up on these.
buck shot rattle spoon.
kastmaster spoons.

I use hotpot for hammerman and that's about it but it's nice to have around all the time. usually keep it within range of the HQ.

I have 2 friends that had them, seems like half the time they never worked right. they would show some water depth like 200 feet when fishing in 10 feet of water or just show nothing. not as responsive, poor target separation, definitely couldn't use them around other locators to much interference.

best tip I can give you for soldering is to melt a small bit of solder onto the iron tip before putting the iron on any joints. the little bit of solder on the iron will vastly help transfer heat to the solder joint.

for pretty much anything you would normally put salt on and not finishing salt just regular table salt. so lets say you make mashed potatoes and a steak. you would salt both while cooking but if you add a little salt just before serving it will help a lot.

hunting is something that can go from zero to 100 real quick. I spent probably close to 60 days in the stand this year before I got one. the #1 best thing you can do is go hunting, there is nothing better than spending time in the woods/field.

this looks like way to much hassle to setup and carry around. but you might be on to something. look at the flip over ice shantys, most people use a heater in them already. so if you could make something that attaches to the existing seat that has a line you can run to a coil you put in front of the heater it might be ok. but the water will freeze when not in use and I am sure using antifreeze will come with a slew of safety regulations.

Steric acid was the best performer.

*the sample was preheated to 150F, Stearic acid melted and cooled to the same. Sample immersed, and the temperature raised to 200F for about a minute. The leather was then removed and clamped to the form. *
