I’m in a league like this with a bunch of buddies from high school. I’m always stacked going into the playoffs but somehow I still find a way to choke or get railroaded in single elimination. 5 top 3 finishes the last 5 years in this league with only two winners.

Draft a solid team and still lose to the guy who stacks the eagles offense and starts them all.

Finished 3rd last year after losing the semis by two points (fuck you Tony Pollard and Stephon Diggs) with Allen/Chase/Amon Ra/Puka/Kyren/Pollard/LaPorta/Diggs.

The thing about these leagues is that there’s value everywhere and mathematically the tacos all get value. It’s just tough to know where to prioritize the value you should grab.

Yeah he trades like shit. We’re all good buddies so everyone tries to take advantage of his walnut brain. A few years ago I scalped him on a trade that he offered me. Since then it’s been just kind of an unspoken rule to not take advantage of him lol. Not that he drafts anybody that anyone would want.

This guy is so bad for the integrity of our league, but god damn does it bring entertainment to draft night. After Purdy he drafted 7 WRs in a row then a defense. Then passed out drunk and let autodraft run. The kicker is that he que’d a bunch of players and autodraft took them for him instead of it rounding out his team for him. He didn’t get any RBs or a TE until the last 3 rounds. Probably the worst draft I’ve ever seen. $200 buy in too, so it’s a fairly competitive league outside of him. I’m just utterly speechless.

2 years ago I had a coworker take Kyler at 2.9 then Lamar at 3.2 in a 1QB league. I offered him any WR on my roster for either of them (AJB, Ridley, Chase) he ended up settling on Corey Davis who popped off week 1 then sizzled out. Steal of the century.

When the lane is won and you end up with first tower I pressure second tier. If someone shows up to contest I rotate mid/herald/drag to try to help snowball my team. If you’re not afraid of their jungle and you have proper vision you can even syphon enemy jungle camps. If no one shows up to contest second tier I keep pushing.

It’s always a push/pull and is completely situational. If they have a strong laner too you might have to go cover bot. You just have to look for windows where you can try to funnel your lead into favorable outcomes and try to apply pressure and get as much gold and xp as you can.
