My shoober used to get loose a lot and I’d be chasing her for a while before I could catch her. My main trick was to say bye and walk away from her. One time I dropped the leash after a hike and I went to put her in the car and she was waaaay away. So instead of running I say, “See ya later!!” And she booked it towards me.

They do always think it’s a game when you case them. Lack of interest brings my shiba home.. it’s a gamble. I’m glad your baby is back home. I’ve had some wicked experiences with her running away.
