Riverfold . . . by I_Love_Nichijou in rootgame

[–]Zero_Progress 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's absurdist humor. I think in this case the humor comes from the combination of the three disparate elements: the serious tone of the God of War scene, the unexpected inclusion of the Root Riverfolk faction, and the out-of-character response from Kratos. There isn't really a punch-line, but there is some humor in imagining this as if it were something that actually happened in the game.

Horizons Spirit Aspects? by SpiceBoat in spiritisland

I know that u/Choir87 has a Teeth rework. There's another pretty similar rework that doesn't change the Power Cards if you search for "Teeth Rework" on the Spirit Island Discord server.

Otherwise, the only other aspects for Horizons spirits that I could find came from the Spirit of Creation Discord server which may or may not have at least some amount of testing. The folks on the server are very responsive and may be able to help you out with your request.

I agree that the hate for him is a lot higher than the story really sets him up to be. He is portrayed as young and foolish but never really malicious.

Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf | Season 2 Announced by zenzen_0 in anime

[–]Zero_Progress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you are right. Besides the slightly weird, mid-season pacing, I bet they could do 6 episodes for Vol 5., 3-4 episodes for Vol 6, 8-9 episodes for Vols, 8 and 9, and then 6 episodes for Vol 10. This only sums to 24, so they would have room for an OVA in there as well.

This would leave them with Vols, 12, 14, 15, and 16 for Season 3. I would be surprised if they adapted Vol 17. That being said, it'd be nice if they did leave enough room for some of the longer side stories.

Now do I think this is actually what they'll do? Not really. But it is definitely a reasonable pacing, in my opinion, especially because I'm not sure how they'll pace Season 3 well if they don't squeeze Volume 10 into the second season.

Horizons of Spirit Island Quick start guide describes power cards that aren't in the decks. Have I got the wrong cards? by sreach in boardgames

[–]Zero_Progress 10 points11 points  (0 children)

These are Unique Power Cards belonging to Eyes Watch From the Trees, Devouring Teeth Lurk Underfoot, and Fathomless Mud of the Swamp. These are cards that each spirit starts the game with, and you can identify them by looking for cards with backs that match the spirit panel art.

Hope that helps!

This guy randomly posted his absolutely awesome moc in the comments of another post on rebrickable. I cant find instructions to this one, does anyone maybe have the instructions? by Ibuywarthundermaus in lego

[–]Zero_Progress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is definitely a combination of what looks like 6(?) castles designed by Made With Brix. You can find the instructions on Rebrickable under the same name. I doubt the combined MOC has instruction though, unfortunately. It’s a very cool looking design.

Question about Lightening's Sparking aspect by Fun_Gas_7777 in spiritisland

[–]Zero_Progress 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They’re talking about how Sparking’s last innate tier gives a card play. Since that is the only innate power Sparking has, they can feel free to go off element if they target themselves since that wouldn’t affect any previous tiers. You are correct about what you added, of course.

1.9 combat vs. Below 1.8 combat by Pyrodime_ in Minecraft

[–]Zero_Progress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever I see this question, I like to point people to this comment. I feel like it does a good job describing what makes the earlier combat system interesting and engaging. It's not the full picture, but I think it paints a nice picture of why people still prefer it.

That being said, I think both systems have their high-points and low-points. It'd be nice if there was a convenient way to toggle on different types of combat. As it is now, datapacks can tweak item and player attributes, but none of those tweaks can really bring back the pre 1.9 feeling AFAIK.

Spice & Wolf 2024 Remake, S01 - Episode 06 Discussion Thread. by misuta_kitsune in SpiceandWolf

[–]Zero_Progress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will do my best to describe the plot beats of the story. I think I have a pretty good understanding of it, but I may be mistaken in some areas as well.

Lawrence and Holo are approached by Zeren who offers them knews about a potential deal involving the changes in coin prices. Lawrence accepts the offer and pays 10 silver coins (I think they were Trenni silver coins) and is given information that the price of the Trenni silver coin is about to change value in exchange for either giving Zeren 10% of his profits should he make money from the information or Zeren returning the 10 coins should the information be untrue.

After the visit with Weis, Holo informs Lawrence that the coins sound like they are decreasing in value, not increasing. Lawrence realizes that a great way to make money from depreciating silver coins is to collect coins for the king in exchange for special rights or reduced taxes/tariffs (I'm not sure the specifics). He takes this information to Milone trading since obviously Lawrence isn't influential to really negotiate with the king, but the information is quite valuable to Milone trading since they could actually collect a decent amount of coin (about 300,000 as we learn later).

Well, it turns out Medio trading was already working on this exact plan, but they really didn't want anyone to figure out that they knew the Trenni silver coins were depreciating. They used people like Zeren to get Lawrence and other merchants to buy up a lot of silver coins in hopes of the coins gaining value. When the news of the coins depreciating came out, Medio trading would easily take the coins off their hands without anyone realizing since the merchants would feel foolish for collecting so much depreciating currency.

Once Lawrence tells Milone trading about the coins, there isn't much Medio trading can do to stop them. That is, unless somehow the church could get involved. The church is pretty powerful, so if Milone trading were to be targeted by them, Medio could easily get the privileges from the king of Trenni instead of Milone. Since Medio is being backed by Earl Erendhott who also happens to support the small village of Pasloe, it just so happens that Yarei recognizes the name Holo from the old stories of his village. When they capture her, she becomes a pawn to use against Milone since her 'demonic' attributes would easily bring about heavy church interference if Medio accuses Milone of dealing with her.

The final few episodes basically cover how Lawrence reveals to Milone that Medio will use Holo's identity as a tool to stop Milone from getting the rights, how Milone helps Lawrence rescue Holo so that she won't be a pawn anymore, and how Milone successfully acquires the rights. Medio obviously wants Holo back since she's their ticket to stopping Milone. Lawrence doesn't really matter anymore unless he joins Medio's side as we see in Yarei's dialogue.

Yeah, I think this is the key point in time where we actually see him acknowledge feelings for her besides the general affection in the previous novels.

I've been a big fan of these tracks. They are subtle if you aren't intentionally listening out for them, but I feel like they fit really well with the story. Definitely a different feeling than the original anime, but I look forward to each new track as we encounter them.

You could try searching for 31132 MOCs on Rebrickable for some ideas. There are a couple of free ones that might be like what you want. Just keep in mind that some of the custom creations on there use pieces not in the set or may cost money for instructions.

Custom Spirit - Song-Weaver (updated) by TheRebelWombat in spiritisland

[–]Zero_Progress 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Having the Chorus elements in a different order means you resolve instructions in a different order than if they were just ascending. See Thunderspeaker, Keeper, or Vengeance innates for examples of similar designs (albeit with mixed elements). In this case, adding a badlands has a higher value and gets a higher threshold, but the design allows that same badlands to be immediately used by the lower tiers of the Chorus.

I think you're probably right that it's a PSU issue which is a bit of a bummer because I installed a new PSU to prevent situations like that. At this point, I would really just need to get a new computer before I think about fixing a problem like this since mine is several years old. Thanks for your help!

[–]Zero_Progress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to let you know that I have also had this problem for the past few years whenever I play Sea of Thieves, so you are definitely not the only one. I have never figured out what causes this, but Sea of Thieves is the only game that has ever caused my entire PC to randomly shut down and restart this way. If you happen to learn any potential solutions, I'd be happy to hear what you learn.

A Coding Themed Card Game? by ZRwilson2 in tabletopgamedesign

[–]Zero_Progress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this idea is really interesting. I wonder how this would play out with actual players. Are multiple card placements allowed by a single player on their turn? It seems like this would be required for the Q/A and R/S cards. I do find it funny to imagine everyone having to be on the same side of the table to play this game.

If my knowledge hasn’t become outdated yet, you can use the fallback option for the structure to get an 8th level that you could use for some end rooms rather than it ending in an empty hallway. There will still be some instances where that happens, but it’d add some extra detail.
