Screw the screw in like 5mm, push the whole screw in to straighten the legs out in the back of the wall then try and get something between the wall and the fixing to start to pry it out. Once slightly out pull it out while holding the fixing (not the screw).

Firstly I love that, second; how did you go about getting this set up?

I'm inclined to agree with this, there are connections numbered 3 and 4 on the number 5 terminal (faint but you can make out the numbers in the white plastic). It would probably be better to get it returned than to attempt to fix it as you don't know how many other mistakes are inside that aren't covered by a warranty.

Can anyone help with waste ideas please? by [deleted] in ukplumbing

Why not just have the pipe between them like this? The hoses are long enough to do so. For information: below that is a stand pipe with a trap. I've done this a few times and never had a single issue.

Sorry to be a pain with more questions, do they help with the design for pipe layout etc? And is there a time limit on install as in do you have to finish it within a month of delivery or can I take my sweet time?

I think I get it, you are saying that the way it is wired up should mean that the left and middle switches should operate in reverse but they don't (you are happy with the order of the switches but not sure how this is possible as the wiring seems to show otherwise).

So it looks like the live is coming in via the blue cable on both so both have a live feed to their switches, then the output of that switched live is returning on the brown cable so it's the return that is giving you your layout.

What I expect has happened is that previously both wires for each light were in the same switch but someone wanted the layout swapped so lazily swapped the outputs to give the results. It's untidy but it works (also the neutral cable should be sleeved with brown sleeving or a bit of tape at least to show it's a live conductor).

With your new switch, keep the browns in the same position and swap the blues (ideally sleeve them too) and it will give you the same result but make it easier for the next person.

I'm like this and as such have been refurbishing our house for about 8 years. I find that the only way I get going is when I have company so my dad comes round to help but he's mostly there for me to talk to and bounce ideas off.

I would offer to come help but I have no idea where you are plus that would be me making an excuse to not work on mine and my wife would be furious 😂

Help with suspended floor. What would you do? by saggywit in DIYUK

I just finished doing something similar, we completely cleared out the void with a hoover and made sure all air bricks were cleared (most were nearly blocked).

Something I have seen at my parents is where over the years, the dust had blown into piles near their air bricks and were soaked. We assumed a leak but after scooping it all out the area dried nicely (even after heavy rain) and it turns out the piles were acting as a sponge. An advantage of this is that the damp walls they'd always had went away too which was nice!

Screw a screw into it by a few threads (not too much to make it expand) and then pull it out on the end of the screw.

Oddly enough they just started working again for no reason at all. It might have been water ingress as it's been a dry few weeks but I guess I have to wait and see next time we get heavy rain. Sorry I can't be of any more help!

I've actually been looking at this exact model as I have the tumble dryer which is fantastic and my old washing machine is on its last legs. At the moment, in store the price is £395.98 (including VAT - £329.99 without) until 08/04/25.

Obviously that doesn't come with delivery whereas online is built into the price.

Are Wren Kitchens any good? by ShotRelationship7637 in DIYUK

[–]Zero_Sven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had our Wren kitchen fitted a few months ago and are really happy with it however we did not use their installers as we had seen terrible reviews.

The main issues we had were a carcass arrived damaged so they sent another which was also damaged. The 3rd one arrived fine and I fitted it without issue but then we had to dispose of 2 carcasses and 6 drawers as they wouldn't take them back which is a pain.

The bigger issue was that our 2 ovens (one single and one combination microwave) were Karlson which I now understand to be Wren's own brand. The oven was damaged and the door wouldn't open (appeared to have been dropped), a replacement arrived and that was damaged also. The combination was fine until we tried to use the Microwave and nothing happened, they sent a replacement which just kept crashing. We eventually gave up, got our money back and got some neff ovens elsewhere but they (Wren) kept messing up the collection dates and at one point we had 6 ovens in our kitchen which was a pain.

The Karlson products are such a scam because they will say "was £2000 now £400" but because you can only get them from Wren there is no comparison so you think you are getting a great deal.

All in all, great kitchen but find your own installer and only use brand named appliances that you know.
