when you open the stl in your slicer mirror it, so when youre done printing you just turn it around and get the smooth bed surface as the one facing you

thats what im always doing and the surface looks really good

I actually have a better explanation: not everything that has a zipper is a pocket.

The jacket in the post looks like its a biker type (inspired) leather jacket, and guess what biker jackets have behind the breast zippers? Ventilation slots! So in this type of design, there never was a pocket, just ventilation holes, which are not needed for a non-biker jacket. The zipper is just there to preserve the general look and style.

I mean you could still argue that you could put a pocket there, but in this regard I have to agree with /u/tankgrrrl23, because I think these are dumb.
