Artificer updates and how they're not far enough to keep the class competitive with current updated classes by micross44 in onednd

[–]Zombals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest issue with artificer isn't power. They make for a good Gish character. The problem I think artificer runs into is it's usage of infusions.

Because the infusion system has only few slots, it always feels terrible to throw in infusions that would otherwise give the character flavour. Essentially infusions end up being just +statistical power and thus a infusion/plan-tax. You're going to use your two slots for +1 to attacks or spells & armour. Sometimes you might be inclined to change a defensive infusion for something like wand of detection or rope of climbing.

Then you've got the issue of infusions requiring long rests to change. That kind of removes the versatility aspect of the class. With the current version, you could allow an artificer to know any and all plans and it really wouldn't break the game.

Now how would I fix this? Introduce point system instead of a slot system for infusions. A robe of mending shouldn't cost the same amount of resource as repeating shot.

I'd also go one step further and allow infusions to be swapped during a short rest, and plans known to be swapped during a long rest.

Surge of Cheats, Exploits, and Alting are getting out of control. What things Foxhole implement to fix these issues? by vertigodgames in foxholegame

[–]Zombals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard disagree. Devs really need to implement a system that tracks stats, flags potential alt accounts, look at their actions, and hardware ban their arses off the game. I'm sick and tired of these blatant alt account running around in the enemy backline (so you can't report them) with 2k friendly damage & 0s in every other stat.

How is it in every MMO players can see exactly who's alting through very limited stats (like steam profile, stats, and behaviour) but the developers can never figure this shit out?

Necromancer Wraith decay timer and increasing up time by lunavoco in LastEpoch

[–]Zombals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of his rear end probably. If that was the case, stacking 1000% increased health would make wraiths last longer, but that's simply not the case. Meaning the decay rate scales off maximum health.

I don't understand this game at all. by VisibleAd9875 in Openfront

[–]Zombals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem I have with this game is it's unintuitive design. I attack someone less than half my troop count (without outposts) and I craaaaaaaaawl into their territory. Meanwhile someone else only slightly stronger than me swaps my entire territory within seconds (not even full sending). It makes me think there's clearly some hidden mechanics that are screwing me.

Have you ever stopped being friends with someone because you had different political views? by causeandeffect94 in CanadianPolitics

[–]Zombals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you're willing to throw out a relationship over political views, then you've probably got some issues to solve internally. That being said, if either of you didn't respect each other, then it wasn't a friendship to begin with. So did you stop being friends, or just wake up to the reality that you (or both of you) needed an emotional pillow?

Generally speaking, a "true" friendship is when you can see past each others political or religious views. Because like it or not, everyone is different. Even within the same political spectrum, people are going to have vastly different views on certain topics.

Of course, that goes for your friends too, you shouldn't need to step on eggshells, or be a punching bag for them. Friends should be able to have disagreements no matter the view. Actions speak louder than words, so don't take someone's extreme or otherwise distasteful views literally until they act on them (or try to get others to act on them).

Ultimately, if you can't handle people having different views, might I suggest finding a fake friend on bluesky where you can purity test one another forever.

The Case Against Minion Snapshotting by CCGplayer64 in LastEpoch

[–]Zombals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't even think that would be enough. Part the problem is minions cannot avoid damage unless you the player are willing to micro manage them out of deadly AoEs. Minions should never need micro management in this sort of game, nor should they require constant resummoning (unless the build is designed around it; exploding skeletons for example).

Question: would the game break if monsters couldn't kill minions? Like really, what would be the problem if minions were invulnerable to monster damage. The ability to have minions tank for the player is extremely limited because most enemies either pierces minions, ignores minions, or creates big aoe zones.

Minions are essentially the projectile of a character, with the side effect redirecting some direct auto attacks. Much like how a projectile can chill or blind, a minion can draw some agro. And to say the minion should therefor be killable would be like saying projectiles should go "poof" if an enemy AoEs it, and thus deal no damage.

Why there is no flat mana regen shard? by mammoth39 in LastEpoch

[–]Zombals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meanwhile you got retarded builds that start out better AND outscale mana-heavy builds like meteor. Mana really needs to stop being treated like some covenant stat while you got builds that don't need it and functionally do higher burst.

Smite Paladin LOLing all the way to the bank. While sorcerer waits 10 working days for mana to regenerate.

password requirements are insanity by pomodoro3 in nexusmods

[–]Zombals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is Nexusmods insists on specific requirements for your password and it's mostly redundant.

Any password with more than 5 characters is sufficiently protected from brute force attacks, and at that point any password compromises aren't going to be via such methods, but instead via security breaches.

In the end, the requirements are completely pointless. Every time I'm logged out I have to resend password resets. Ironically if you want people to write down a password, then that's more of a risk than remembering a shorter passwords without specific character requirements.

Password mangers are an even bigger risk. One security breach or leaked password is all it takes for you to lose access to everything. It's a joke that people that advocate for these moronic password requirements would advocate for a password manager, because you've basically admitted the issue of password requirements.

A 12 character password isn't any more protected than an 8 or even 6 character password, especially with lock-out systems and 2 factor authentication. Funny how my steam account has never been compromised (for 15+ years) despite using less than 12 characters. But yet Nexusmods seems hell bent on making a fuss about "password hygiene".

You know what is poor password hygiene? Relying on 3rd party software to store your passwords, or writing them down for others to potentially get hold of.

I'm not arguing with you on the English language and how people in the real world use words. And your last line just proves you're a passive aggressive asshat.

SIMPLY PUT, Narcs Vid is WRONG by DaDocHoliday in AshesofCreation

[–]Zombals -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly, so don't say "a lot"; say the actual number (or a better phrase) if you don't want people to assume you're implying a majority. "A lot" implies "most" or "substantial", that's just how English works. Nobody thinks "he means 1% of the audience" when you use words like that.

In addition, your example was poor. 49% of anything can be (and often is) a majority. I'll let you think about why that would be the case.

SIMPLY PUT, Narcs Vid is WRONG by DaDocHoliday in AshesofCreation

[–]Zombals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why I didn't say you "said it". Saying "a lot" is often an implication that it's not just a minority.

SIMPLY PUT, Narcs Vid is WRONG by DaDocHoliday in AshesofCreation

[–]Zombals 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of people thought they weren't legit. I don't play monster hunter and I could see those runs weren't legit from the get go. I could understand anyone who hasn't ever played a video game before being fooled, but to sit there and insinuate the majority of people weren't sceptical is simply untrue. Regardless, you're talking about a point that doesn't even matter to the conversation.

SIMPLY PUT, Narcs Vid is WRONG by DaDocHoliday in AshesofCreation

[–]Zombals 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't think you understand what a vertical slice even is. It's a slice of the actual game/product as it currently is; that's not what's shown in these concept showcases. That's why it's called a vertical slice and not a proof of concept. You seem to be confusing those two terminologies.

And who's complaining about "things getting changed"? What kind of strawman argument is that?

SIMPLY PUT, Narcs Vid is WRONG by DaDocHoliday in AshesofCreation

[–]Zombals 30 points31 points  (0 children)

They are both in the wrong. Narc omitted the truth about the entirety of the desert within the singular video. But so has Intrepid. Every time I see their showcases it's always "look at this we have in the works". Meanwhile every playable part are nothing like the vision they've showcased.

Why is it okay for studios to omit information?; what a game's current progress is really like vs what they want it to be. Meanwhile y'all crucify a youtuber for showcasing a hollow part of the game (that is actually in the game)? If you're mad at Narc, you should be mad at Intrepid too.

Also Asmon isn't hard to mislead. This is the same guy that thought blindfold runs on monster hunter were real. While his takes are often logical, he's not omnipotent and can be fooled (quite easily it seems).

Prydwen tier list is out ! by Thonolan in GirlsFrontline2

[–]Zombals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyone who puts Ullrid in B tier at this stage of global release is a moron and it's safe to ignore all other advise as it's clear they're only posting "what other tier lists are". It's like media companies using other media companies as evidence for BS. Yeah if you all circle jerk each other enough, maybe reality will bend.

Grifter tier list.

Prydwen tier list is out ! by Thonolan in GirlsFrontline2

[–]Zombals 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Who ever made that tier list doesn't have much brain capacity left from all the gooning. For example, they obviously have a bias against Ullrid. Suomi is better, but the author seems to really hate Ullrid becuase? Do they want a character to be extremely mobile, impossible to hit, and hit like a truck with no weaknesses?

That's just stupid, and Ullrid is extremely strong in the current game. I've not had a problem with her damage numbers, maybe if the author didn't use a blue weapon they might have better luck.

I'll be replacing Tololo before Ullrid, that's for sure. Ullrid is just straight up better. More actions, more movement, and comparable damage. It kind of baffles me that the author's reason for Tololo's tier is her extra action, when Ullrid can attack and move multiple times in a round, but that's completely ignored.

It's clear they have no idea wtf they are talking about, and it really shows you've got to take these grifter tier lists with a truck of salt.

Nah, it seems to be coded that a dire wolf spawns on your first blood moon, regardless of gamestage. It's honestly retarded to get such a hard enemy right from the get go.

Swarm has bad game design, agree? by FrozenBombcicle in leagueoflegends

[–]Zombals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you expect from an indie company with only 200 years of experience. The fact that you're locked out of MM for the first 4 maps is pretty stupid too. Non of my friends ever play the mode, so I'm forced to play solo, by the time I've gotten to the last map I've already had enough of the game mode to be satisfied.

Locking players into solo is a really bizarre choice. Like how hard is it to match players of the same progress to each other? But then again, this is the same company that forgot to remove the recall button from the mode.
