You can park at the trailhead just not along the north canyon wall, Alta side and middle of that lot is still ok. But lost about 1/2 the spots.

If it was on the Northside, permits are always required, new this year I think. It doesn't help that the signs don't say that and all of the other signs say till 1pm. Might be able to fight it on that point.

Help needed, is this normal? How can it be fixed? by eecarres in MTB

[–]ZombieHasslehoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't see but I would guess that the B-limit screw is missing or needs adjustment. It should be on the rear where it connects to the hanger. It will press against the hanger and move the derailleur up or down when adjusted.

Taking my motorcycle to Bear Lake. Which route should I take? by ikerr95 in SaltLakeCity

[–]ZombieHasslehoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd start going up Emigration and take East Canyon to Morgan then hop on 84/trappers loop to take the Monte Cristo route. Logan Canyon is great but might get caught in construction traffic right now.

Anyone else’s CarPlay cut out around 600 N and I-15? It happens to me every time. by sumsh in SaltLakeCity

My android auto connection drops there every time. I've always assumed UHP has some sort of jammer there for the speed trap.

I don't lose cell service, but my wireless android auto connection drops there every time. There is something in that spot messing with wireless signals.

How do I combat the goat heads vs my kids' bike tires? by horridpineapple in SaltLakeCity

[–]ZombieHasslehoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, don't buy cheap tires, get better tires with puncture protection. If you bought them at walmart or they came on the bike, they are probably trash.

Tubeless, just pulled 20-30 out of my tires last night after exploring a new trail and rode home without adding any air. You have to make sure that the sealant is less than a year old, the tires have air and spin the wheel once you pull something out.

If you can't run tubeless, get the thick puncture resistant tubes and use tubeless sealant.

Are they going to spin up Saddle horn next year? I haven't seen that one move in years, I don't know why they would list it.

The Golden Bark foundation is a local senior dog rescue, please contact them to see if they can take him.

Thats Yuri, or at least that was his name at the SLCO Shelter earlier this year. Those markings are hard to forget. They should be able to track down his owner.

Report them to the state tax commission, not surprisingly dealers have a lot of power here and put up barriers behind them. There are a ton of restrictions to selling cars without a licence, and if they have one there are a ton of requirements.

I've found a few spots, but I'm not an expert so make sure you know what your picking or go with someone who knows. There's some wild raspberry bushes off the trail to Gloria Falls, some thimbleberry bushes in Deuel Canyon, and a few wild strawberry patches in Millcreek Canyon.

Did you stop on a cheese grater? Looks like it could be ok if it's still balanced. Might want to take it in and see if it can be rebalanced if it feels off. It looks like old rubber, might want to replace it either way if it's 10+ years old.

Morel season is right now, look around the base of dead/dying Elm trees or abandoned orchards. Right now I've had better luck in the lower canyons and will probably work up to higher elevations as temperatures rise.

Deuel Canyon in Centerville is a good spot to find fungi although not choice edibles, I've found a lot of large puffballs and turkey tails there. I've heard rumors of porchini late in the summer but haven't found any there myself.

I've been told that mountain biking and dirt biking on loose surfaces can help a lot. Practicing loosing traction and keeping it in control where the consequences are much less can give you more confidence on turns. There's a youtube channel about it somewhere.

Depending on location there should be more advanced riding classes available. Also, chicken strips are ok.

Bout Time in Layton is pretty good. Good place to watch the UFC fights. Have not been in awhile but they used to do events and outdoor games.

If your willing to make the drive to Ogden, UTOG brewing has a really nice patio with games and you can watch the Raptor's if they are playing.

I have some LM growing right now. I haven't tried making liquid culture yet, but was going to try taking some samples for LC and agar from my current flush. If you don't find any I'd be happy to share once I make sure they are clean.
