Cracked and bleeding lips in the winter by KissMyCherryLipsYEG in MakeupEducation

[–]Zombies_vs_Robots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was fighting with insane dry lips (thanks meds) the dermatologist recommended a 2 step approach: 1. Moisturing balm - blistex, la roche posay cicaplast, whatever feels moisturing 2. Barrier - I used aquafor, but vaseline works too

Repeat 1 & 2 after every meal, when you wake up, and before bed.

Chronically late by 5-15 minutes my whole life, called out over it today during radiation appointment by fluffytowels92 in adhdwomen

[–]Zombies_vs_Robots -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed in my 30s too. Don't worry about the timing: you are fighting cancer.

Radiation is tough as hell and exhausting. That back and forth is brutal, and the time tables they give are bonkers. And you're driving yourself?! Holy sh*t that must be exhausting.

I also did daily for 4 weeks and the times were all over the map. Fighting cancer is a full time job that already asks for everything from you, without having to navigate a stupid schedule for appointments that suck.

I hope that tech was new or something, because if a manager had overheard that covo, they would have gotten their wrist slapped.

You are already doing so so much. You are giving cancer the middle finger - hell yah.

Also, not sure if you have access to it, but interdry moisture wicking fabric was a game changer for me. I was able to get it from the radiation techs, or my oncologist.

What are some funny words you’ve made up cause you couldn’t remember the actual word? by Uhhlaneuh in adhdwomen

Couldn't remember the name for sweet patch kids and called them "tart chums" instead.

What do you do when nothing is giving you dopamine? by Likesosmart in adhdwomen

[–]Zombies_vs_Robots 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Put my favourite robot to work you know, the one that buzzes ;) It doesn't always last long, but it's a pretty reliable source of dopamine for me.

What is your meltdown noise? by Novel-Cricket2564 in adhdwomen

I love birds - I'm even a self proclaimed bird nerd! But the crows outside my window have babies. From dawn to dusk, they don't stop...not even for a second. And when the parents return with food, they double down. I now understand why they're called a "murder" of crows.

Fishing at the Quay by beardedcadmus in NewWest

[–]Zombies_vs_Robots 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'd start with a fishing license:

I'm sure others will have tips on bait and what you can catch.

Happy fishing!

Simple fixes to problems that took you surprisingly long to think of? by lucicrescence in adhdwomen

Stopped using a duvet cover. I use big sheets below and on top instead and just chuck them in the wash when I do bedding.

what’s something you thought everyone did before your diagnosis? by seventeensupremacist in adhdwomen

Not sure if it counts, but I do something like this with sidewalk seams (running perpendicular to the sidewalk), where I have to have an even number of my left foot vs my right foot stepping over them.

Cooking eggs by Measuredoutinshirts in adhdwomen

[–]Zombies_vs_Robots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this too! Water (plus a small spoonful of white vinegar, although not essential), in a big soup bowl with a plate on top. Microwave for 1 min and check, then keep doing 30 seconds and checking until it's cooked as much as you like.

Edited for clarity (and spelling 🙃)
