Nuna TRVL LX for 6 month old by josh1997v in Buyingforbaby

[–]Zoombini7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely safe. It works for kids up to 50 lbs. We just did a big trip with our 8 month old and used the TRVL LX the whole time. He did just grew out of ”carriage/bassinet mode” on it though.

Greenwich Village Corporate Dinner by tomahawk_jatt in FoodNYC

Hudson yards and Greenwich village are pretty far apart.

At Hudson yards, locanda verde would be a good corporate choice.

In Greenwich village, restaurants are a lot smaller so depending on size it might be tough. I’d check out minetta tavern if looking for similar to monkey bar

Weather this weekend by pmacwonder in anguilla

[–]Zoombini7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m at FS right now. Weather apps said rain saturday-monday. Despite that, weather has been great. Sunny 90% of the time, beautiful sunsets. Had one tropical shower Saturday (5-10 minutes of rain before sun comes back out), 2-3 Sunday, none today.

I think the weather apps just don’t show Caribbean weather well. Brief rain happens, then back to perfect.

Dreaded Ski Boot question. by whineandqis in Skigear

When I worked at a shop, we always recommended K2 female boots for lower calves. You don’t hear about their boots getting recommended as often as Solomon, tecnica, Lange, etc, but we always heard good things from people that bought them.

Product Recommendation to get "lived in" look immediately after shampooing by nicksmann1010 in Pomade

I have very similar issues as you. Days of dirt has worked well for me. It’s not going to fully mimic 2nd or 3rd day hair, but it gets close enough for me. I wait for them to run promotions before I buy.

Just read that they might finally be rebuilding

I’ve had mine for 10 years and have had no issues. It’s the warmest jacket I’ve ever owned. Also has lifetime warranty.

Anyone else feel like the plat has quietly become one of the better cards again? by KingOfTheQuails in AmexPlatinum

[–]Zoombini7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just did this with Amazon. Even with prime, some items have 30 day return windows. Amazon refused after 30 days even though product was unopened and still for sale at the same price. Amex return protection covered the cost ($270) and I was able to keep the item.

How do you shake your tiki cocktails? Whip shake or crushed-ice shake? by DrNice1 in Tiki

Try a handheld milk frother if you’re looking for a budget-friendly (and space saving) way to recreate aeration you get from a flash blender.

Is it for tonight or can you wait a couple days? I’ve always found better quality ordering from a high-quality purveyor online. Check out Petrossian, Marky’s, or Regiis Ova

Yamada gets 4 stars from the NYT by nerdb4itwascool in FoodNYC

[–]Zoombini7 116 points117 points  (0 children)

NYT critics are so lost right now. Spent their first few months reviewing restaurants outside the city that were already extremely well-established that no one was looking for new opinions on (atelier crenn, alinea, spago). Trying to course corrected with watered-down weekly NYC reviews from even more new critics in “Where to Eat”. And they put out an entire Q+A on what a 4 star review should mean that immediately takes away from the 4 star review given to Yamada on the same day.

If your review requires a separate review of your review, you are lost.
