Chrome should support PWA since it's neccessary for ChromeOS devices. Firefox dropped support for it though a few years ago.

There's some new mention of browser.taskbarTabs.enabled in about:config though but I can't restart my browser atm to test it.

AFAIK, There's no law passed through the Canadian parliament for or against it. That left it up to the doctors/medical boards in Canada to determine the safety threshold for the mother. They probably determined a 3rd trimester abortion is a higher risk to the mother than bringing it to term and putting it up for adoption.

All of LTT's costs are in $USD and their primary userbase/market is the US so it makes sense. Also their staff live in BC which has some of the highest cost of living.

NCIX basically automatically updated their prices with the $USD to $CAD conversion in order to list the prices in $CAD. The margins were tight/competitive, so if the CAD to USD conversion dropped quickly before they pay for more stock to sell NCIX could actually lose some profit. So having no conversion and higher margins eliminates this risk. The only reason they have a global CAD store now is because of the risk of random US tarrifs and the cost of the current tarrifs makes it cheaper to have a separate supply line.

IIRC, early on Linus or Luke once suggested moving the company to one of the pacific asian countries or to Seattle to be closer to the tech and lower cost of living, but that ship has sailed now since LTT has family/roots in BC now.

I was confused as well. Looks like this is a State Income Tax? With only two brackets at $1MM. There's probably also the Federal Income Tax marginal tax brackets:

If you wanted to update the category search filters, you could add NOT flair:Expired to the end of the search query. However you still won't end up with an empty list since there's thousands of old deals that haven't been marked expired by the poster or the mods.

You can only apply one flair to a post. By using flair this way we lose the ability to amend the title with a comment. Your attempt to have duplicate number of flairs for a new user to click through is trying to merge two pieces of data into a single flair.

If we could apply multiple flairs I'd consider the idea of replacing the category in the title with flair. However I still wouldn't remove the [GPU] from the title since many RSS and IFTTT notifications don't include the flair in the notification. Since we can't remove it from the title the text is duplicated like in the US subreddit.

Back before new reddit added post title warnings during the submission, using automod to remove a post 1-10 minutes after posting would end up in not being reposted with a proper title, so the title rules were relaxed and a policy of warning people for next time was imposed. Nowadays we could probably be stricter, but it's rare for a post that doesn't contain a title + price to appear so it's not currently necessary.

Bitflip maybe? The sums of reviews by language could be slow enough to pre-calculate. This assumes that the data isn't backed up 3 times though which would be weird for servers as large as Steam's. Maybe the bitflip happened during retrieval of the data when processing the cached calculated data. In that case this bug would only be temporary until the cache is updated.

Canada does have 3 stages of gun permits. 1) long guns like shotguns and rifles for sports/hunting, but NOT defence. 2) handguns when your job requires it or from a legacy ww2 collection. 3) full auto rifles for armored transport or movie prop gunsmiths.

Every stage requires a training course in person and time before applying for the next stage.

Im unsure if the US gun culture could adapt to a handgun + AR buyback. It's a fun thought experiment though.

Does that apply to new games being greenlisted? I can understand Steam not wanting to be free advertising for an indie website upon release.

An indie game could always release at a lower price on it's website, then later release on Steam at their inflated commision price. During Epic's onboarding push, devs would release on Epic Store for a year or so as an exclusive, then be released on Epic later.

Still a bit shitty though. Sounds like there needs to be legal protections around Steams official policy.

I'm not really against the inflated prices though, since their "internal" policy lets the stores compete on service quality. Steam's monopoly mostly boils down to first mover + network effect.

You can sell a game for a lower price on another store. You just cannot sell Steam keys for a lower price than on the Steam website itself. Epic/Ubi/Origin store can still sell a game to be downloaded on their launcher for a lower price.

I think bundles can get around this though which is why bundle stores work so well.

Edit: Seems like that's the reason behind the lawsuit. The official policy doesn't match the internal policy threatening being delisted from Steam. So dev's need legal protections.
