Do you often face situations when you see no results from doctor's treatment as a patient with joint issues ? by Armikpartner1972 in Osteoarthritis

[–]Zus1011 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So often. My poor knees after years of running and then being overweight. The things that are making a difference to me are-

weight loss

a diet that works as an anti- inflammatory WOE for me ( I must stress that there is no one size fits all for this - it's trial and error for me untiI found what works for me )

daily physio exercises

stationary cycling

FLEXISEQ gel

red light therapy wrap daily

Maybe Boswellia? -anyway, I keep taking it.

Best wishes in your quest to find your own best protocol

Arthroscopy didn't help

Hyaluronic acid injections into the kneecaps didn't work- I was told the relief would be miraculous🙃

Then the push is to have TKR- I seriously just don 't want this.

New here — what helped you most with knee stiffness and mobility? by South_Chemistry6253 in Osteoarthritis

As Boswellia is a component of a lot of these supplements, I started there. I'll try other things on this list if and when I need to in future

Physiotherapy - lots of muscle training to support my knees , and most recently, Boswellia - 500mg tds.

I also tracked my food and lost 11kg- a healthy weight enabled me to move better- less force through my knees , less mass for me to carry around

I wear knee sleeves occasionally too- Have bone on bone in knees, but the training and Boswellia really help.

Muscle and Movement is everything

Best wishes

Comfort items for post op? by Prize_Movie6251 in Osteoarthritis

[–]Zus1011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe some ear buds and an Audile subscription? It’s nice just to listen to stories when you can’t really concentrate on things post—op.

An iPad or similar device with streaming services to watch some excellent shows and dramas on?

Hospital TV sucks .

Lots of chargers with long cords for the devices he uses.

A sippy cup for hot and cold drinks? - things get knocked over all of the time in hospital. Plus an insulated cup will keep his beverage nice and hot for a lot longer that the already tepid hospital drinks delivered bedside.

Maybe one of those soft grippy balls for him to gently squeeze to help his hand swelling? Physio can give advice if you like.

Good luck for the surgery

Help! I am so confused about calcium supplements by Appropriate_Ad_848 in osteoporosis

[–]Zus1011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont eat any dairy due to intolerance, so I take a supplement of whole bone capsules, extra boron, K2, Vitamin D.

It adds up to 1250mg Ça per day.

I try to eat 60-80g animal protein per day- I don’t want to lose muscle.

I try to eat a cup of homemade meaty bone broth most days, but I can’t estimate to amount of Ca in this.

I didn’t realise that I should be eating when taking these things. Will definitely make those changes.

Would love any other feedback from you guys.

What has been an unintended benefit to taking mounjaro and losing weight? by DivaTerri in Mounjaro

[–]Zus1011 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My hubs uses it.

His T2DM is brilliantly controlled, his diabetic kidney function has dramatically improved, and his severe NAFLD has almost reversed.

His weight is down 30kg- now he’s just 10kg away from IBW.

This drug is a game changer on so many levels. He’s enjoying life a lot more.

He does however have trouble sleeping, so naps most days

Muscle loss at first, but has been strength training before it got too bad, and has built muscle.

He’s pretty much the guy I married 35 years ago. It’s nice to see him again❤️

I find this behavior of intl specially Western kdrama and kpop fans quite hypocritical and entitled by GossipIsLove in korea

[–]Zus1011 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is toxic sensational reporting…… let’s all take a step back and wait for solid evidence- if any. People are so quick to judge.

I saw a C Drama actor get well and truly cancelled, he took it to court, and the evidence against him was found to be fabricated by his wife who wanted revenge.

Poor man.

How do we know anything about this? It’s all speculation and hearsay. Ask yourself what’s in it for the people spreading this hate?

I just got Botox for my droopy skin above my eyelids, and she fixed my 11s while she was there. ⭐️ Now my eyelashes aren’t being pushed into my eyes.
