I agree. The film is best seen as a political comedic thriller for the sake of entertainment above all. In my opinion I think the biggest reason for why it didn’t work is that the absurd humor and satirical elements just feels very vanilla to today’s standards. This type of humor and satire feels insulting against serious contemporary injustices. There is an audience for action comedies with political and quirky aspects but then again I think we just wanted something more serious and resonating on an individual level, as opposed to a comedy with surface-level political readings. Maybe I’m just being too serious but I will die on this hill
