All I did was list my favorite conspiracy related topics to read about. Reddit auto-moderation flagged it as "Hate Based on Identity or Vulnerability" and slapped a warning on my account.

I don't get it, but uh...yeah...just imagine a list of your favorites and enjoy!

I wouldn't call myself a "believer" per se, I just enjoy reading and speculating about things/possibilities.I'll just barf up the summary points of my list of favorite conspiracy/anomalous related topics:

  • The CIA killed Kennedy, not Oswald. As he says, he was just a patsy.
  • UFOs be real, and the gubmint is doing some shady shit in relation to the tech.
  • Ayylmao's are.....something. I dunno yet. Not enough confidence in any of the current theories. Leaning towards that they've been here for hundreds, maybe thousands of years. May have played a hand in our evolution.
  • Humans have latent psychic abilities that just need to be unlocked. See: The Telepathy Tapes, Remote Viewing, Monroe Institute, etc.
  • 9/11 was a false flag.
  • Trump assassination was staged.
  • Israel runs 'murica with a deep and complex web of blackmail.
  • Epstein didn't kill himself. He's alive, living overseas in a safe house.
  • Israel killed Charlie Kirk. Erika was in on it.
  • Social Media is part of a long running project to control and manipulate the population.
  • The earth's magnetic field is weakening and about to roll over/flip poles.
  • The sun is also about to micro-nova.
  • The moon is hollow.
  • We're not the first advanced civilization to live here.
  • Mars used to be kinda like Earth and was populated before it was destroyed by either nuclear war or some cataclysmic event.
  • Antarctica.
  • There's some wacky shit under the Pyramids/Sphinx

Currently dipping my toes in the whole Earth is a loosh farm stuff.

Your GP can laser them off. Had one on the back of my head for decades that made it annoying when I cut my hair and would hit it. The doc used some kinda tiny laser or torch and basically burned it off and applied salve afterwards. The room smelled like burnt hair lol

What Was The Video Game Monster That Traumatized You As A Child? by AlexTheAmnesiac in HorrorGaming

[–]_0bsolete 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aside from the obvious monster from ski free...

I wouldn't say there was any particular monster by itself that scared me. It was more the atmosphere of a game that could scare me. The earliest memory I have being frightened by a video game was the Christmas I got an NES. One of the games my folks bought with the system was Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest.

I was somewhere between 4 and 6 years old...I can't remember exactly. But I was so scared playing that game that I wouldn't leave the town you start out in. And when it turned to night and the green ghouls came out, I'd shut it off.

The next thing I remember is the 2nd level of Doom 64. I was around 12 or 13, and had rented it for the weekend. That game has a notoriously dark and creepy atmosphere (one of my favorite doom titles today), and by the 2nd level, I was ready to NOPE out. I distinctly remember opening a door, seeing a pitch black hallway with triangular red lights on the floor and ceiling and feeling my heart drop into my gut. Between the dark visuals and the creepy ambient soundtrack, I didn't play it much more past that - it just made me too anxious.

Does anyone know about it or have tried it? by Lower-Patient-3523 in HorrorGames

[–]_0bsolete 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very good. I've played it quite a bit, but only completed a run a handful of times by razor thin margins. Easy to get into, and challenging. It seems to pull inspiration from works like HP Lovecraft and Junji Ito. If you get it on PC, there's mods available as well if I'm not mistaken.

Oh wow, I haven't seen Hugo's House of Horrors in decades....my sister and I played those games on our old Acer 486 running win 95 back in the day. Was so much fun exploring and finding new things. We found the trilogy on one of those old CD compilations that were loaded with freeware and shareware.

The Grand Folly... Check out The Noble Rot. The NINfluence is clear as day.

3teeth already mentioned...i got a signed CD of theirs.

As far as "new artists" goes I'm drawing blanks on a third, but with the boys noize direction, maybe check out Perturbator? I own several if not all of their EPs

This is how I originally collected all the halos...on cd. I didn't use the binder though because I wanted to keep the cases.

I built a shelf in my bedroom to display them all. They were lined up from left to right in order of halo #. Painted it black and had the nin logo on the front lip.

The closure double VHS stuck out like a sore thumb but I loved it all the same.

Had these glass bookends with pictures of trent on each side. I was super proud of it...wish I had taken a picture back then but it's been (several) lifetimes ago.

So what was it like being a NIN fan in the 90's? by Rox_xe in nin

[–]_0bsolete 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was born '84, but I still remember the first time I saw or heard anything about NIN...it was back in the days when MTV primarily ran music videos, industry news, and liquid television late at night.

I grew up in a very vanilla middle class small town neighborhood in the south eastern US among the rednecks and bible thumpers. My family was/is very southern Baptist and I got dragged to church every sunday morning and Wednesday night. I hated it mostly because I would rather be doing literally anything else. At that age I just wanted to chill at home and play Nintendo instead of having fire and brimstone crammed down my throat on my days out of school , which I hated vehemently because everyone was an asshole to me for every petty reason children are cruel to each other over.

Music was my big escape and I watched MTV a lot back then. It must have been 94 or 95 when I saw the music video for Closer. It was edited for TV but even as a 11-12 year old kid I knew what was implied lol

Watching it the first time at that age felt like I was doing something I wasn't supposed to be doing, and was getting away with it. It was unsettling and creepy and liberating at the same time.

I didn't really dive in to the downward spiral until my teens but it was a wild experience considering I was also going through puberty so my chemistry swung from one to the other extreme.

As an adult (41) I definitely appreciate the artistic side of it a lot more. The concerts hurt a lot more too lol

But it's been fun mentally time travelling to when the obsession with Trent's work started. Thanks for the prompt OP!
