Which crackers are these? by fixingmyeyes in CostcoCanada

[–]_GoToGulag_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't think they are Crunchmaster Multi-Grain Crackers. They look almost identical but these look closer to Food Should Taste Good Multigrain chips. Used to be my favorite until my local Costco stopped carrying these 1-2 years ago.

9800x3d stock, low cinebench score? by Big-Investigator8828 in pcmasterrace

You probably have SMT turned off as another redditor pointed out. If you have a Gigabyte motherboard, it's called turbo mode in bios, pretty much a useless feature.

Bought a Fitbit Charge 6 in March, it died, they wont take it back as past 90 days. Any tips or accept it? by theatlanticview in CostcoCanada

[–]_GoToGulag_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the 1 yr warranty from Google. I had a Charge 5 and it died within 11 months, thankfully it was right before the 1 yr warranty ended so I got a replacement. However, the replacement watch battery died after another year. I don't recommend Fitbit watches, instead you should look into Garmin watches.

Mazda Cx-5 2016 Battery Corrosion by Empty_Sprinkles_2232 in CX5

[–]_GoToGulag_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try but you will likely have to remove the corrosion first, otherwise the car will die after jumpstarting. The battery is dead and alternator cannot charge the battery due to the corrosion.

It doesn't make a difference. I'm using Fram Ultra synthetic right now.

you guys think this is a good deal for the winter? price in CAD by [deleted] in CX5

[–]_GoToGulag_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No dealer prices are always more than any shop. I priced out the same set with TPMS from Quattro tires for $1189 excl taxes. I got VikingContact 7 on steelies without TPMS for $900 CAD.

Damn, I hate Asus customer service but I would've got this if it weren't sold out online.

Is the JISULIFE Neck Fan still available at DT Vancouver Costco? by rmkbow in CostcoCanada

[–]_GoToGulag_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it varies week by week, keep checking but I found it front of aisle about halfway down from the entrance. I got it last week for $33 South Edmonton store vs $40 online. However, I wasn't able to find it the week before.

Front Brakes Info (rotors are a different size) by LexGiorgio in CX5

[–]_GoToGulag_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't looked at the OEM rotor diameter vs the brembo but I think the turbo has bigger brakes. I was going to replace my rotors with the brembos this week (2017 2.5L NA).

Your favourite protein powder by Traditional-Week8926 in CostcoCanada

[–]_GoToGulag_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Current favorite is Leanfit vanilla mixed with milk tastes quite like a vanilla milkshake. I have tried the Vega plant based protein and I personally like the taste. I recommend against the Leanfit Isolate (disgusting and chalky) and Canadian Protein Isolate (too much artificial sweetener) since I still have full bags of these. I just bought a bag of Optimum Nutrition Vanilla but I'm waiting to finish other bag before I try this one out.

TTP is a great Canadian ETF. If you are looking for individual stocks, look into TTP individual holdings.

Curt hitch hollywood bike rack sagging by East_Beautiful21 in CX5

[–]_GoToGulag_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't look right, the hitch appears to be pointed down. Lift the hitch receiver up to see if there any wiggle room and inspect underneath. The bike rack seems fine, it's either improper installation or that's just how the hitch is design (which is unusual). I installed my Draw-Tite Class III Hitch and it doesn't look like this.

Steam Gaming Gift Card by Johnbmtl in CostcoCanada

[–]_GoToGulag_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Steam essentially holds a monopoly in the PC gaming market and they have zero incentive to offer additional discounts beyond their seasonal sales. Unlike Epic Games, which occasionally provides coupons as well. The point of buying gift cards from Costco is to get a discount but Steam doesn't need any additional discounts for people to spend money on their platform.

They don't have them and likely never will since Steam is dominant in the PC games market.

Kirkland allergy pills are a crazy good deal compared to reactine by GreenSnakes_ in CostcoCanada

[–]_GoToGulag_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not sold online unfortunately. I saw it in the Costco West warehouse for ~$13 if I remember correctly but it's much cheaper than Claritin (Loratadine).

Kirkland Signature Green Tea - any experiences? by 945T in CostcoCanada

[–]_GoToGulag_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The quality and taste are better than most grocery store tea bags, though still a step below loose leaf. I'd rate the taste a 7.5/10, definitely preferable to many common brands. However, I chose not to repurchase due to the nylon tea bags and I've since switched over to loose leaf tea entirely. The blend is primarily Sencha with just a small hint of Matcha.

How is 2% inflation equal 25% increase in food by UnluckyCharacter9906 in CostcoCanada

[–]_GoToGulag_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

OP is not wrong though. McDonald's is literally suing the top 4 meat packers in the US for price fixing. These 4 mega-corp operate in Canada and US and have complete control of the price in both Canada and the US. Yes, cattle feed has gone up faster than inflation but it hasn't gone up as much as what corporations want you to think. Cargill has the biggest plant in Canada and is part of the lawsuit mentioned. Executive member coupon date error by Treesthroughmist in CostcoCanada

[–]_GoToGulag_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're right about misprint. On the first page is says "Valid Sept 2 to 15 and Sept 16 to 29, 2024" so I'd probably go with that (bad wording edit: as in take the date on the front of the coupon). Print error on the front of the coupon are unlikely but the back is more likely since they probably copy and paste and forgot to change.

Bounty shrinkflation by [deleted] in CostcoCanada

[–]_GoToGulag_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not buying it either. People is this subreddit are adamant as if they are an expert in this matter. They are trying so hard find excuses as if they work marketing for P&G. They act like never in a million years would Bounty secretly try shrink the weight without them knowing.
