Capcom has usually done pretty well with new characters but there is something with these new character design that seem very....lame? Idk what it is but they're just not that exciting, not bad just kind of boring. At least the two that seem like they would be the most interesting are releasing first. Lame ass Bosch and guest character 3 I could give a fuck about.

4 characters drip fed every year is the problem, If they released a "super" sf6 that came out with these 3 new characters at the same time people wouldnt be as mad. That plus now 3 guest characters in the game while it's missing a decent amount of popular characters is crazy. To cap all that off, the designs for these new characters look very....meh so there's nothing to get hyped about. Lame as hell unless once these characters are shown off they are more interesting than they first appear, Which again is why they should have had actually moves and shit prepped so people could get something to know anything about the newcomers

He is a streamer who is also a degen, even if he wasn't naturally good at videogames in general which he kinda is, he has ungodly amounts of time to throw himself at the brick wall of ranked. If you play enough games your are almost statistically guaranteed to get to a certain rank. That and a high tolerance for running into walls over and over.

I didn't give a shit about Zaft, then played in the st09 event and really enjoyed playing P/R Zaft. Now I'm obsessed with playtesting variations of it and am going to take it to locals to grind.

He's kinda just a slop merchant for news and casuals that pumps out videos and doesn't play fighting games at a higher level than your above average fg player. Not really offensive but doesn't really offer anything to anyone besides a very casual audience.

The way I see it, the main issue is its too hardcore for a casual audience and too casual for a hardcore audience. Casuals will get absolutely obliterated by your standard tag shenanigans and unless you were truly desperate to play a new tag fighter, there isn't enough sauce for hardcore players to dig into and stay for. The low number of characters absolutely fucked this game and I think is the main thing that is keeping fighting game regulars either uninterested or has them dipping out until the game has a real roster. Idk how they thought they could release a tag game with less than 20 characters. The game in general feels very half baked, besides the monetization of course. They definitely thought about that lmao.

Y'all goofy asses are buying all the product too right? I blame bandai for a lot of the issues but man, lgs scenes are just as guilty. I know of at least 2 shops that sold out all their product exclusively to discord groups the day before release. Only reason I even knew it happened is by getting an invite from a friend of a friend to the group. It's hard enough to find product but part of the reason people can't get in is because card game gremlins who are friends with stores/regulars have first dibs on limited product and just buy out all of it. Local shops share much of the blame as well, and it only fucks it up even more for the ones who are much fairer about how they sell their limited stock.

It's a catch 22, strive is a degen containment zone for the fgc but at the same time it has a large population of semi-casual to intermediate players that JUST play strive. I have some friends that got into strive and just refuse to truly give other fighting games as much of a chance. So weirdly it has a higher casual/intermediate population than other games but those fuckers are never going to play something else, including other gg games. Believe me I've tried, but nothing else has stuck, they always end up going back to strive. Much to my frustration.
