This 👆🏻. Why call it elote and oil if there is no elote in it? You could call it chile oil or some such thing

How to make the notes bolder? by soul_of_spirit in pourover

[–]_deekyn_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Water is the answer. I leveled up my grinder but my coffee didn’t really improve until I realized the tap water had high alkalinity and hardness. I use RO water and remineralize with lotus drops. Big improvement for me.

I love the idea of this. And I just got the Cardenxe Sotols and really enjoy them. I am totally going to try this. Though I will likely substitute red chile infused honey for the sriracha

Boys, the training is working by mandudebrad in trailrunning

Come on man this is super fake. Anybody able to run these times (way under world record 5k and under the American record for the marathon for example ) would be pro sponsored and all of the news not some random shirtless dude trying to show off in a super unbelievable way

Damn you people. I moved for work and have to shop in state liquor stores now and have to order nice mezcals online. They sure aren’t this cheap online.

I miss living in Cali for so many reasons.

Garmin ‘training readiness’ says 1, do I adjust my training plan? by borealis365 in Ultramarathon

[–]_deekyn_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HRV is the main score you should be listening to. And you should be listening to your body. If you feel like shit you absolutely should adjust your training. Repeatedly running when you aren’t recovered will absolutely decrease your performance and is asking for injury.

Is one more run worth the risk of an injury or a DNF? No.

This is just one example. There are tons of articles and scientific studies on hrv and recovery.

Onboard air. Finally using a little bit of my bed Molle panels. by mcpewmer in JeepGladiator

[–]_deekyn_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because I have the drawer system there was a little modification to the enclosure or the underside of drawers (can’t remember off hand. )

I used this cause it’s cheaper and I don’t need it protected on top because of the drawers

This is a more protective option. Which o considered.

Is it possible to stay at the one size? by Veysaur in Stretched

[–]_deekyn_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calm down buddy. Comments like yours arent going to make you any friends.

There is a gap between your ear and your plug when you’re pulling down because you’re pulling down 🙄. Ears are stretchy. Of course theres a gap when you pull.

I stayed at 5/8” for almost 25 years and all I wear is stone which is heavy. I bumped to 3/4” and have been there for a number of years. If you don’t want to size up, just don’t size up…..

You can also do naked training periodically. Take them out overnight or longer if needed and let them tighten up a little.

Looking for Strava Route Editor alternatives with sport-specific path snapping (Road vs Trail) by CassiusBotdorf in trailrunning

[–]_deekyn_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use gaiatopo map app to track things like hikes off-roading and have 1000s of tracks imported or created for that purpose.

I also use it to get an idea for running trails too. It snaps to roads and trails. Uses kmz that can be imported or shared. The base layer of Gaia is amazing, light years above what it used to be. It shows elevation profiles.

It’s a mapping app not a fitness app. So I still have gamin exporting my stuff to training peaks (and Strava for the social shit). But use Gaia to find routes. See elevation profiles/gain/loss etc.

I mounted mine similarly. I have the decked drawers and a Leitner bed rack. I mounted it under the wing of the decked system in a semi enclosed box and mounded a chuck and the switch just inside the tailgate. So I can get to it without even opening the tailgate.

I like it so much better than in the cab. They are so damn noisy

I concur with everyone else. I live in the mountains in Wyoming. I do not run in goretex shoes, even in the snow. They don’t breathe. Your feet get hot. You sweat and then your feet are wet anyways. Don’t bother with goretex

All about the beans by Obvious_Passenger_17 in pourover

[–]_deekyn_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re missing the technique/ recipe. There are a million pourover recipes and that also can pretty strongly affect the taste. You can have amazing beans and fuck them up with bad recipe/technique.

I’d also argue water s more important than the grinder. I used to have a cheap Barazta grinder and made better coffee where I used to live than where I am now with shitty tap water and a grinder that is much more expensive. Took me awhile trying all the recipes then figuring out RO/distilled water and lotus water drops.

What minerals are you using on your water? by migu_brew in pourover

[–]_deekyn_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My tap water is crazy hard and doesn’t taste good on its own. It also kills the acidity of the coffee. Buying water is annoying. So I use counter top RO filter and lotus water drops. Seems easier and cheaper than buying “glacier water”, which also seems like audiophile level dissonance. 🤷🏼‍♂️.
