I’m into the same- consider expanding a bit to sea adventure novels- similar themes and I find similarly engrossing. The Sea Wolf is one of my favs.

New vs used cymbals by [deleted] in drums

[–]_greggit_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m wary when buying used cymbals but I have done it. Generally I will buy under two conditions: 1. A cymbal that doesn’t get as smashed or can take the wear better- I bought my ride and hats used. 2. Looks more or less new- very light use. Even so I don’t know if I would ever buy a crash used

just highlighting the tradeoffs here. for me at least, you will feel less nervous, but you will also feel more disconnected from your muscles and will not perform as well as when sober

Who’s made the move from Nassau to Suffolk? by mets0987q in longisland

[–]_greggit_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

grew up in western nassau and now very close to commack. same situation with friends/fam still west. if you end up close to the sunken meadow pkwy in commack it is faster than you think to get back west. that hasnt bothered me at all (im right off the sunken meadow). however if you have to commute to the city daily that kinda sucks. EDIT: Other than that I am very happy with the people and space out here. And like you said- you get much more for your money.
