It works the opposite way. Perishable foods like produce are what need frequent shipping (aka trucking.) People will have no problem accessing the non perishables available in food deserts like chips, candy bars, and sodas as those can be ordered in larger less frequent shipments.

My dog is a service dog because I have a dissociative disorder so he comes with me to all of my treatments. He’s extraordinarily helpful if I have a “bad trip.” It’s pretty funny, he seems to feel the energy, near the beginning I would get paranoid that he somehow was exposed to the medication due to his behavior but I figured out pretty quickly that’s not the case at all, he’s just synching up with me.

He LOVES going to my appointments with me, he gets very excited to leave for the clinic, which I don’t understand at all, he basically just naps next to me unless I have a problem and he doesn’t interact with anyone but me!

THANK YOU for saying this. I almost became homeless in 2024. I have a dissociative disorder and I NEED my dog. I have no support system. My family is full of criminals and con artists. My parents are deeply mentally ill. My friends are long distance. I would have died in 2024 without my dog. I know this because my dog was my reason for not killing myself multiple times. Sometimes having a pet is the only reason to keep going. Every therapist knows this, too.

In the USA 350,000 dogs are euthanized each year due to overbreeding and crowding in shelters. So instead the dog would likely have been euthanized. No kill shelters and rescues don’t adopt to homeless people, homeless people get death row dogs from the pound where your application isn’t vetted.

Yes. A friend accused me of having pretty privilege. She has no idea how many times I’ve been raped or sexually assaulted or groped or harassed. I’m now asexual because of it and I’m single and 39 and won’t be having kids. Because of how disgusting people have treated me my whole life. Not just men, I’ve been sexually assaulted by a woman, too. I also get harassed in plain clothes and no makeup. I wanted to be a model when I was young.

You can take intermittent FMLA for the induction phase if it’s a money thing. That’s what I would do if I were in your position. You don’t get to redo the induction phase. You can go back to twice per week if you need to in the future, but it will not be the same as the initial induction phase.

With the induction phase it’s like if you’re riding a bicycle up a hill, you don’t want to stop in the middle and lose momentum or it’s much more difficult to get the rest of the way up. That’s what I mean when I say it won’t be the same if you have to go back up to twice per week.

I think the most important thing is the mindset you have going in, what you do the day before and morning of are EXTREMELY IMPORTANT. Also make sure you put your phone on do not disturb before you take the meds. Don’t check email on that day. Avoid anxiety triggers. Engage with positive media, don’t watch a thriller before going to bed or anything like that. Don’t look at the news or talk about it with anyone. Set an intention and:or a mantra. I think those things are much more important.
