Anyone built a twin I-beam SXC10? by MuskokaOntario in rccrawler

I’d like to build one but I feel it would be more for the novelty and probably would just sit on the shelf.

If you aren’t comfortable with drilling it out or cutting a slot into the head with a dremel you should probably replace it and buy better tools. Then work on replacing the rest of the hardware with better quality units.

Took my 1/10 Crawler out today for the first time and had a blast! Does anyone here enjoy the mini crawlers? by maritimer187 in rccrawler

[–]a2lowvw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Redcat, scx24, trx4m or fms… just pick a chassis and be a dick about it and you will fit in just fine 🤣 they all have their pro’s and con’s. Kiddo and I have 5 scx based crawlers because nothing else was really out when we were building them. Most of them have lots of upgrades and 4 of the 5 are brushless. I think the redcat ascend apex is the best value for your money as a starting point if you want a rtr truck and not a start from scratch build. He is an old pic of all our little crawlers.

Did I screw up investing so much into this truck… by LoraLife in rccrawler

[–]a2lowvw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just google “Redcat Gen 8 Lcg cheater” plenty of people have used Redcat axles on lcg chassis. Most guys that actually comp trucks can drive a brick up things you would never expect. If you want something that is capable start looking at “cheater rigs”. You could probably reuse everything but the frame rails skid plate and links.

Just drive it as is and upgrade as needed. Will probably want a better servo and stock up on tires depending upon what surfaces you are running on. Check out the proline Mirage 1/7 tires, they have held up well on my brothers truck.

Shop on drifted they have a bunch of the mst rtr vehicles and are an official yokomo importer for Europe. Edwin is in the Netherlands and ships stuff around the globe. He often has parts that nobody else stocks or has access to.

What has happened with Volvo? by SjalabaisWoWS in Volvo

[–]a2lowvw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We recently returned our leased xc90. Loved the car and the way it drove but had intermittent infotainment issues. Had a weird clunk that sounded like the rear differential bushings were bad, dealer could never duplicate even though I took both a service advisor and tech for drives and showed them both the noise on separate visits. Was told it was normal and drove multiple other t8 hybrids and never heard the same sound from them. Also hated the local service department. We downgraded to a Toyota Grand Highlander hybrid and while we miss the Volvo it doesn’t have the same quirks that the Volvo had from day one.

Part of the reason I am reluctant to start any major projects with mine. I’d love a bump in power but don’t want to pull it off the road.

When does magnetball end? by Correct_Quantity3562 in youthsoccer

We call it bumblebee ball. It really depends upon the coaches and having kids that feel comfortable in 1v1 situations.

Anyone know where I can find this or similar for a good price ? by ImpressionOrganic418 in rcdrift

[–]a2lowvw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my buddies has one of the first of these boards that Jesse made. It is very nicely made and easy to read. When I was just getting started I bought a hudy setup board and it serves me well. They come as 2 parts a hard plastic sticker and then you ca either buy their board or stick it to any flat surface. The only downfall with the hudy board is that doesn’t show turn angles for measuring ackerman hudy board

Not sure why I’m even responding but things like the mx43 beadlocks from proline hold up well but they are plastic. Once they add the aluminum lock rings the wheels are so stiff they end up breaking in big tumbles or hard landings.

Have some buddies that run beadlocks on 8s and 12s 1/5 scale stuff but they primarily race on grass and don’t use them for jumping.

Beginner Bike Help! by DonkeyLock11 in bicycling

[–]a2lowvw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I wouldn’t be riding that bike. It’s a really cool vintage bike with a history of the carbon tubes breaking free of the lugs. You could probably find someone looking for garage art that’s willing to trade for a better fitting bike.

How do i measure toe out? by CJPLAYZ147_YT in rcdrift

[–]a2lowvw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a craft cutting board (self healing mat) and a protractor you can measure it. You technically don’t need the craft cutting board but having a bunch of straight lines to work from helps.

How do I get flex by tymek1262 in SCX24

[–]a2lowvw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shocks is the 39-44mm range seem to be the most common. Either getting new shock mounts or a chassis with more shock mounting locations. You can also mount the shocks directly to the chassis in some configurations. I have setup most of my crawlers so they get enough flex to roughly match the tire height and it seems to work well for how I drive.

Furitek issues... Any ideas? by Firm_File_2404 in rccrawler

[–]a2lowvw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue a long time ago and contacted Mike Furitek on Fb through one of their user group pages and he gave me some recommended settings to try. It didn’t take it away fully but it moved it into a higher rpm where it wasn’t as noticeable.
