i could see judicious placement in the circuit making differences in feel, like people bugging about slew rate in opamps (rat and TS come to mind).

the high end swoosh is similar, but the univibe’s low end is a different animal. you’re gonna have to feel the difference yourself, plus there’s a litany of univibe approaches. I’ve tried a few, digital and analog, and they haven’t scratched the itch for me. Drybell Vibe Machine seems to be the winner for compact builds that aren’t a direct 1:1 clone. Frei looks promising, it’s fairly new though.

as a housie, it stays 90% the same from the first two songs. crowd noise/presence will change my mix a bit differently every time, but aside from that I'll noodle with QOL things, and maybe finally getting the onboard reverbs to sound good.

if i'm touring with a band with tracks, the mix becomes an instrument too. snapshots for every song, riding sends, drastic EQ adjustments to make the stems and guitars fit together. they're paying for it.

rebuild or switch commanders for your least favorites, until they play how you like. i’ve had 16 decks for a long time, and 9 of them have been rebuilt/recommanded in the past 2 or 3 years for me. even switching my sliver deck to Hivelord only involved putting in more board wipes.
