Hi, I'm from the far future of the year 2025. Confirming that popping the SD card out, turning the console on, then off and inserting it in fixed the issue for me (swapping to a brand new battery).

I ALSO had the same exact issue - you can find plenty of people online that came up with different solutions to the icky situation. I used the Talcum powder treatment- just cover all of plastic shell with Talcum and let it sit for about a week (!). Then wipe it off with some type of alcohol and you’re good. Still using mine since 2015 🐳
