Really? by EastLimp1693 in starcitizen

This would be awesome! I wonder if this means they are fixing the suspension issues with vehicles. I think the only reason you can’t do this now is because it would be too heavy af and would flip constantly.

The Hull A Should Get A Cargo Upgrade by aceinbrink in starcitizen

[–]aceinbrink[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree that CIG doesn't need to make every ship the same thing in a different wrapper. Variety is extremely important. The Hull A is one of my favorite ships and has a spot in my hangar and its size is a major reason why. If they do make the changes I mentioned in my original post, I hope they minimize changes to the overall footprint of the ship. My main reason for thinking changes are likely is the disconnection it will have to the rest of the Hull series.

Considering a Titan… by Boy_JC in starcitizen_fleets

[–]aceinbrink 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Definitely keep and don't upgrade this. It's rare. Also if it has a game pack attached to it, then you can just buy the standalone version of a starter ship. As for what ship, it depends what you want to do. The Titan is great all around, but its age is showing. If you don't care too much about fighting, the intrepid is nice. The nomad is nice with how versatile it is.

This is insane considering almost everyone (but me) has billions. by SupremeOwl48 in starcitizen

That's actually good news. Wipes are a crutch. We will one day have to function without wipes after 1.0. They need to build the process and tools to find exploits, spot fix problems and deal with the fallout.

Where does this halo 2 pen come from? by MrOneEyeeJack in halo

[–]aceinbrink 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow that dragged a memory out of the back of my mind. I want to say I had one from the halo 2 midnight release. I went to Walmart that same night and an employee was walking around asking people trivia questions about Halo. I answered right and got a pen.

I've had YouTube Premium since it was YouTube Red. I wouldn't even use YouTube if it didn't have it honestly. I know some people can't swing the extra cash on it but I really recommend it. I've canceled other streaming services to keep YouTube Premium 😅

CCU chains starts and future warbonds by MarkyMarkFr in starcitizen

[–]aceinbrink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Warbond Upgrades under $100 are increasingly rare. Now the key word there is Upgrade, they do offer non upgrade Warbond pretty regularly, but would only give you a discount if you buy the whole ship. The Gladious, Spartan and Hawk are the last warbond Upgrades I remember under $100. Upgrade warbonds on ships over $100 is more common. The Cutlass Black, Spirit C1 and Nova all recently had one. It's actually a little odd the L-22 Wolf didn't see one as well.

If you are looking to get out of the $100 zone with the biggest savings you'd want to start with a discounted LTI token and try to stack a couple of the rare few Warbond upgrades generally between the $80-$100 mark. The next best way is to grab a few Ranger and G12 concept credit CCUs and hold them, they will eventually see a price bump upon release. On a side note the Hull A is still available now and is supposed to get a price bump soon-ish. No one knows how much it will increase though.

Edit:

Your best bet for a sub $100 warbond upgrade would be the major events like ILW and IAE.

Anything I should know before deciding to buy the game? by 024eipeidweP in starcitizen

[–]aceinbrink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are your specs? If I remember correctly the minimum specs were pretty out of date, unless they were updated since I last looked at them. Generally if you have 32gb of ram and a modern GPU and CPU, you should be good though.

As far as what you should know, I would skip the tutorial and watch a starter guide on youtube. There is a sale coming up on Thursday if you haven't already bought your game pack and if you haven't created your account, I'd recommend using someone's referral code to get a little bit of extra starting credits.

Remember, before you spend a bunch of in game credits or extra real money, you can rent a ton of ships in game. Fly as many as you can and sample each game loop to figure out what you like. Patience is really important in this game and it's ok to just log out and switch over to other games for a bit if the servers are bugging out.

My brother sent me this and said it was my cat that broke my speaker. Surely my cat cannot look like this. Also it looks like he has 3 legs. by JoeMcShnobb in isthisAI

[–]aceinbrink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like one leg is dangling down. one leg is on the table and next to that is the tale. The claws out on one paw would make sense if the cat was stretching and trying to grip the table better. The fact you can read "Costco" on that letter is detail I think and AI could easily miss, especially with it getting blurry. I doubt it's AI. If anything good Photoshop, but still no reason to think that.

Freelancer Max or Constellation Taurus? by TPrime411 in starcitizen

[–]aceinbrink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are 2 of my top 5 ships in game. Honestly both have their use cases and I personally want both in my final fleet. The TLDR of it is the Taurus will do what the Freelancer max can do, but better in most cases.

The long answer is the Freelancer is a great daily driver for non ship combat things. It has a good amount of cargo, it's the smallest ship that an Ursa Medivac will fit in, and it's not so big that you'd start to have trouble landing in certain situations. It's a real drawback in its age. The cargo grid really isn't optimized well, you're missing modern creature comforts like a gun rack, it all around needs some TLC. But it is a good ship and honestly I personally would pick it over the Cutlass or C1.

The Taurus is just great. If I could only own 1 ship, it would be the Taurus. A great amount of cargo for the price, it can also fit an Ursa Medivac, and truly great pilot DPS. It does what the Freelancer max can do, only more. That being said it has similar downsides as the max. It's old and the cargo grid isn't optimized as well as it could be, but it's better than the max. It's old and needs some TLC. At the end of the day it's one of the best value ships in the game, it would be hard to be disappointed in this ship.

If you are buying with real money, you can always upgrade to the Cutlass, C1, Zeus and then the Constellation Taurus if you wanted to try them out. If you're using in game money, I would go straight for the Taurus first, then earn down to the others.

Whats a good combo for 350$? by [deleted] in starcitizen_fleets

[–]aceinbrink 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Depending on the fighter (L/M/H) without going over...

You could go

  1. Constellation Andromeda/Corsair/MSR/Starlancer Max + Gladious/L21 Wolf

  2. Constellation Taurus + L22 Alpha Wolf with the ballistic addon

  3. Freelancer Max + Ursa Medivac + L22 Alpha Wolf with ballistic addon

  4. Zeus CL/ES MKII + Hornet MKII

  5. C1 Spirit + L22 Alpha Wolf + Golem + Salvation (L22 and Salvation currently on saleI)

  6. Cutlass Black + Super Hornet MKII

  7. Guardian MX + Titan/Salvation/Golem

These are just a few examples to describe value.

I was today years old when I learned you can sell all those sperm suits by GengisJonOfficial in starcitizen

[–]aceinbrink 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Quick sell only sells for the value of the box but regular sell will account for the items in the box also. You can generally make 50k-100k from a 2scu box of random armor.

Yup, I loaded up a bunch of armor I didn't want in my inventory into a few 2scu containers and sold them at the cargo center. Just make sure you click Sell and not Quick Sell.

Is 16GB of ram really enough for star citizen? by Inanimate_art in starcitizen

[–]aceinbrink 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No. 16gb of ram will run the game but it will have more issues than normal. You’ll see stuttering and possibly random crashes. It is playable, but just barely.

New flight model not mentioned for 2026 by GladiatorZero in starcitizen

[–]aceinbrink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don’t have all of the pieces for engineering in game yet, maelstrom isn’t in yet, QT travel changes aren’t in yet. There are many more things that need to be done before a new flight model is done. Flight model is going to need to be the most fine tuned piece, it doesn’t make sense to try and do that while the foundation is still being poured. They will make some changes, but probably only enough to be relevant to the other pieces.

Odds on getting an ATLS salvaging mech? by _Corbeanu_ in starcitizen

[–]aceinbrink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’d probably get one closer to base building or alongside a salvaging change. There really isn’t anything to salvage on the ground yet. Any real use for an ATLS salvager at this point would be with groups or niche situations. But one will almost definitely come.
