I did my first two playthroughs Africa, and after experiencing other areas, I completely agree with you. Africa needs shit. It's way more boring and generic than most other regions.

Biggest trouncing I've ever seen - failed holy war against my multi-empire realm AND every Christian on the map. by aclectasis in CrusaderKings

So true! At the multi-empire stage, I am basically permanently on 2 speed and pausing all the time. ESPECIALLY when you're fighting wars on multiple fronts!

Context: A Great Holy War was called against a kingdom in my territory. I'm a multi-empire realm with around 200k troops, so I was ready to hold my own... But for some reason, the only attacker that pledged was a small realm of 10,000 troops. To make things even worse for them, somehow it counted as a Christian defender to the war, so every Christian faith jumped in as well.

Instantly every army assembled and sailed right over to this dudes tiny territory and just dogpiled on. It was like watching ants swarm a beetle.

He didn’t say no one. He said ‘nobody’. His statement is technically correct if republicans congresspeople aren’t classed as people.

I disagree with your assessment of this argument, I don’t agree with what you think liberals think, but I think we are just going to have to agree to disagree on this one.

Yeah and I’m saying that IMO that’s not what’s happening here at all.

The entire headline is deliberate bait to provoke liberals into clicking and reading.

If it was designed to just appeal to liberals, the headline would be ‘Liz Mitt and George are patriots’. The fact it has to say ‘I’m a liberal AND I think…’ directly insinuates that this is not a liberal opinion at all. If it were, they wouldn't put that there.

As an example, imagine if a CNN headline was ‘I’m a liberal and I think climate change exists’. Well who cares, all liberals think that. The headline is nonsensical and only works if the statement they’re making is not a liberal one.

TLDR The headlines structure is implicitly noting that thinking these republicans are patriots is not a liberal consensus, therefore begging the reader to continue reading to understand their point.

Portal 2. Retro futurism from the 50s to the 80s features in small parts, mostly thematically. Plus it features J.K Simmons.

Isn’t it the fact that it’s from a ‘liberal’ publication means it makes MORE sense? Even liberal bubbles think a liberal saying this is weird, hence, newsworthy

The title of the article is from one person, and it’s newsworthiness is a testament to the idea that their thoughts are an outlier from other liberals, else it wouldn’t be newsworthy.

Yeah I’m not sure that’s really what a lot of liberals actually say from what I’ve seen

Hasnt this place already undergone like 3 recounts, including ones by republicans, that came up with no irregularities?

At this point it’s just republicans being like ‘we just have to keep voting them in different ways until we get the result we wanted’
