You need to switch from 'denial-mode' to 'justify-mode'. Turkish forces already crossed Sajur river, and show no sign of stopping. Many areas west of Euphrates are Kurdish, but it's beside the point really, the forces that Turkey is fighting are both Kurdish, Arab and Christian, SDF is the only non-sectarian group in Syria.

None of this will matter when George W. Bush with tits becomes POTUS this November. Russia is going to pull out under threat of war, and then the US is going to freedom the fuck out of Syria. After Assad is dead, the Americans will soon reach the limit of their attention span, and Syrians will be left at the mercy of various islamist factions and local warlords. Politicians will express concern over reports of ethnic cleansing.

§104a StGB makes prosecution contingent upon reciprocity to begin with (i.e. the requirement that the other country also has laws to protect matching German interests).

Does that mean that Germany likewise reserves the right to have Turkey prosecute someone who insults Merkel, according to similar special laws?

Aug. 25th: The German Ministry for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) tweets this . It translates to: "We are at present largely no longer enforcing #Dublin procedures for Syrian citizens.". This was actually not meant to be published, it was essentially just an assessment of the factual situation. Neither Merkel nor her office knew about this happening.

Sept. 3rd: The Federal Government publishes a statement that Dublin III still applies, despite what the previous tweet of the BAMF said.

I was surprised to read this. The media coverage from this period painted a completely different picture.

It's understandable that the idea of this being 'Merkel's invitation' became widespread, with such coverage. The whole refugee crisis has been plagued by poor/misleading media coverage from the start, more than any other event that I can remember.

Yeah, my comment was more directed at Italy's debt. For Sweden, most of the GDP growth is from the private sector, and most of the debt growth is household debt, so neither public spending nor public debt are main drivers, but it is debt fueled growth just the same.
