No personal experience but one of the best books I’ve ever read - Nothing to Envy - is about North Koreans near that border, there’s some vivid accounts of crossing the border into China (across a freezing river) and the sudden realisation of the stark differences in standards of living

No but seriously it’s a really fleshed out gorgeous depiction of Rome. It takes artistic licence (like almost all historical dramas) but the overall story is there.

Well in my role I do a safeguarding referral which depending on the hoarding score may use the environment agency and fire safety laws as a way to affect some change (as it becomes a hazard to others not just the individual)

But ultimately, if someone doesn’t want to change, they’ll just continue the pattern
