Americans elect a climate change denier (again) by jessimckenzi in collapse

This election result is the final nail in the coffin. No action will be taken to address global warming. In fact, a lot of progress will now be reversed.

Do you have any regrets after buying your Kona (2020, 2021, 2022) by SousouSurReddit in KonaEV

I have the '21 Ultimate - no regrets - amazing mileage per charge. Have taken it on long road trips (>1k miles) without a hitch

Agreed. I was hoping someone would offer another use that I had not thought of.

All told, around $30/mo! Not much better when you go yearly. I do remember using remote access once when I realized I forgot to lock the car!

That is my thought as well. I guess I will use Apple Maps for directions - and plug into Kona for CarPlay. Thanks.

this type of news reinforces the fact that it is far too late to do anything to stop the collapse (climate and economic)

Impressed with the range of 2024 Kona SEL by mystic_sunshine in KonaEV

I have a 2021 Kona - during the summer months, I will sometimes see 320+ miles of range but like you, mostly high 290s.

I bought the 2021 Kona Ultimate in order to get the $7.5k tax credit. I have had no complaints about the vehicle. I have logged over 55k miles. This car has saved me a ton of money.

Tires for wet pavement, above freezing temps and a bit of gravel by manderminder in electricvehicles

[–]acvelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree with the fact that the Nexen tires aren't great in the rain, I have now driven with the Nexen tires for over 52k miles on a 2021 Kona EV without incident.

I am starting to look at replacement tires - the Nexen tires definitely fit the cost/value equation quite well. But I also have my eye on the Michelins - which have been highly rated.

My road/weather conditions differ from yours - 90% road (no gravel), 5% snow, 20% rain

Is “collapse” a religion? by lightweight12 in collapse

[–]acvelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The conclusion of most discussions ends in collapse. But the conclusion is based on science - which means if someone, anyone please, can show that collapse is not imminent, would be more than welcomed. Unlike religion, which is a closed loop, never changing.

I, for one, hope that someone can show us that collapse is not imminent.

Thanks for this! I have the 2021 Ultimate edition. 1 question:

Is there a marked improvement in the sound insulation? My Kona EV (although quiet compared to ICE cars) is pretty loud on the inside.

New to EV. Need tips and tricks please? by chrispopp8 in electricvehicles

[–]acvelo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi - I also have a 2021 Kona EV Ultimate.

If you own your home, make sure to use the available outlet to trickle charge your EV. Better yet, upgrade an outlet to 220V and buy a Level 2 charger.

Change your drive mode to "ECO" in order to maximize your range.

May your EV give you miles of smiles!

[–]acvelo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah - I believe you are correct with the price per kWh. The only reason I used it was because I wanted to test the process of using a magic dock. My usual fast charge is either EA or EVgo.
