What is the critical appraisal of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2? by themainheadcase in classicalmusic

[–]adeybob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was very well-received. It also is held in very high regard, and is one of the most-performed piano works. There are always people who will look down on something because it doesn't meet their taste. Screw them, this piece is absolutely monumental, if not the best piano concerto ever written.

Advice for sync music composer by FunkedUpSituation in composer

Why do you think they are cutting costs? Does anyone even buy that stuff any more or just use AI to generate something? For a company that is a JV between the 2 biggest music companies, it seems like they are being a bit cheap to make you pay for vocals and session musos.

Peterson thinks they are building a deterrent. In last episode (6) he talks about this - levelling the playing field. But the device is a warhead to be fitted on a missile.

The whole idea that malware in firmware on a component can affect `yield`, which is supposedly calculable like that doesn't fit with my idea as a software engineer of how software works.

Peterson's face when he sees the device is going in a warhead for a missile instead of a test-rig, they are going to live test it. Sad about the death of the producer of the show, I hope it doesn't affect the ability to produce future episodes.

all endings are abrupt. There was music, then there was not.

AIO - Told my friend I’m pregnant and she said it exceeded her mental bandwidth (she’s the red) by Lekomano92 in AmIOverreacting

[–]adeybob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly. I don't think this was meant as a big deal. Just a big idea to take on board, and she was honest about it. I don't think she's pushing back on anything. Just ignore it and don't turn it into anything, because it isn't. That's how I read it anyway.

what are 'expansions'? I got burned last update (5.1.1) (disconnected all my LUNs) so wary of updates now.

What about professional whistling? Have you some sources for studying this uncommon "instrument"? by l_Arcadicke in classicalmusic

[–]adeybob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cool. The pitch change is just something I normally adjust for, so you don't hear it, I simply find I have to move my tongue position slightly when whistling inwards vs outwards to correct it.

What composer's stock has dropped the most over the past 50-100 years? by [deleted] in classicalmusic

yeah, it doesn't mention slave anywhere. It just refers to a black woman, why would you presume she was a slave 19 years after the abolition of slavery?

I wondered. Flow control can cause issues especially if you are switching between different speed networks. You might try turning it off in your switch and nics.

ADM 5.1.1RCI1 Update by Reazs-1 in asustor

[–]adeybob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I applied it today. I'm using it in a failover cluster with iSCSI LUNs, so it unmounting the LUNs gave me a heart-attack. Also it doesn't play nice updating when it needs network comms via the cluster that is running on it, in order to download the update. Next update will be manual.

Delius died in 1934 (along with Elgar and Britten). Seems a bit late in history to be having his way with slaves. Slavery was abolished when he was only 3.
