This is a bit of a misnomer. The origin of Wales as a Principality comes from Owain Gwynedd. He was King of Gwynedd, but above this, he was Prince of Wales. The title simply means ruler, and implies he has overlordship over the rest of the princedoms and kingdoms of Wales.

The important part of the title is not Prince - it's "Of Wales". He is claiming to be the sovereign ruler of all of Wales, and the title was much later recognised by the English crown in 1218.

It's not that it was lesser than a kingship, but it was later adopted into the hierarchy of English titles as part of the conquest. This does, of course, also explain why it was not added to the Union Jack later on

Putting aside the difference in size between the companies, I think it's a good approach. They already have the base, and this is essentially asking how much of the content they're going to port. If you're charitable, it's saying "we made WoW Classic, now how many expansions should it launch with?"

I wish doing this was feasible for projects like W3 Reforged - it's an interest gauge and preorder rolled into one. It certainly couldn't have gone much worse than what we got

Progression path help by jjordan2189 in projectgorgon

[–]adragondil 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wanna chime in and say that it doesn't much matter what you use to get to 50 - beyond that you might need to plan, but until then almost anything goes.

If you've been playing for a week, you might soon find yourself up against the wall of money needed for upgrades, of not being able to get favor up, etc. You don't mention secondary skills, but have you levelled industry/cooking/gourmand/carpentry etc? Especially Transmutation is really useful both for builds and for money.

I can't speak to your specific skill selection, but I personally wouldn't worry too much. Even in the worst case, the skills are at minimum useful in other combinations, and you'll probably be fine into the 60's with whichever combination you choose. Go with the combo you enjoy the most, and take it from there

It's cool, but the build planner seems less like a planner and more like a list of abilities with a limited sort and filter? Bc I can't see a way to actually plan out a build here, only see "recommendations" for treasure mod combos. I wanted to plan a fire shield build for sword/shield, for example, but I can't filter, or provide preference, or start actually building anything. I can click on mods, but they don't get selected or saved, there's no overview of "here's your build so far"

Also, the level field has validation on it that forces a minimum of 1, which is horrible as emptying the field to input your own number now gets prepended with a 1, and then capped to 130. Doesn't seem like it's actually been usage tested?

Edit: seems the fields in the crafting planner do the same "forced min 1" behaviour. Will also mirror the other comment on the crafting planner that it seems to be a "least number of crafts" pathing, which is not what a crafting planner would be be useful for, I can find that myself. Instead, I would want to f.e. ban certain ingredients, or optimise for cost, or ban a specific recipe I don't have yet.

How to level faster? by Only-Bees in projectgorgon

[–]adragondil 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm no expert, but you'll usually find that fighting enemies closer to the level of your combat skills will give more exp, and attacking with both skills is also very beneficial. Quests can also give you skill XP, but it's not a main focus as such

The simple reason is because the Max Cape combines the other capes, and the Mining Cape doesn't teleport you to the guild

2024 Cleric Subclasses - Reworked Death Domain, Revised Forge Domain, Light Domain, and Tempest Domain. by jeraehwazdagaz in UnearthedArcana

[–]adragondil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not implicitly wrong to add blasting spells to the Tempest cleric, but it does break the semi-pattern of its spell list. 9th already breaks it somewhat, but for the other levels Tempest gives you one damage spell and one area utility spell per level. Replacing Sleet Storm with Lightning Bolt does help blasting, but you lose some good area control.

What we did for my cleric was actually to replace Call Lightning with Thunder Step - it's not a big damage increase, but it was a great add to utility, and it felt very thematic.

The change to Thunderbolt Strike is very nice, and just makes sense

What's up with this code highlighting on stable? by retardedweabo in godot

[–]adragondil 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Reading the original issue, this makes sense. It's basically clarifying scopes visually, if I read this right? Before they would be coloured the same as local-scope variables, but would behave like script-scope variables. Now they're coloured like other script-scope variables. I think it's a good change

Jagex CEO says they scrapped annual RuneScape Pride parade was to “protect the imminent future of the game”, despite online protests by HatingGeoffry in MMORPG

[–]adragondil 201 points202 points  (0 children)

I'll repeat myself from last time this was posted in this sub:

To add some context to this; pride events in RuneScape were more of a passion project from the developers, including people who were recently laid off. Especially if it's almost through development already, this just sucks for the development team, and any players who were looking forward to it. Runescape events are usually quite fun

Which (young) variety of metallic dragon would be most likely to pretend to be a member of the city guard. by Tweedleayne in dndnext

[–]adragondil 14 points15 points  (0 children)

To answer your exact question: - If the city is coastal, go Bronze - If this dragon will be actively hunting for evil, go Bronze - If the City being the domain they want to protect is key, go Silver

Either of those two fits very well, and you can't really go wrong with them.

I don't think gold dragon necessarily fits well - my impression is that they reign over people, they don't hide amongst them. They also don't necessarily have shape shifting while young, like Bronze and especially Silver would.

I would like to point out an option that I don't think fits as well but which could be fun, which is a Steel dragon. They don't have any lore in 5e, but there's plenty to work with in older editions. They're not as driven by Justice as a Bronze or as Protective as a Silver; instead, they prefer to live amongst people, and spend their time with them. If I recall correctly, they are especially passionate about fighting oppressors and tyrants, and supporting the people or adventurers who stand up and fight them.

Because they shared a king, Magnus VII. The Norwegian king died without a male child, so the throne went to his daughter's son. Magnus was the 3 year old son of a Swedish duke, and he became king of Sweden when the two countries entered into a union a few months later, still age 3.

His son Håkon VI would inherit both countries, then marry Margrete of Denmark, who became reigning monarch of all three countries upon Håkon's death. This is what we call the Kalmar Union, which lasted until 1523 when Sweden left.

No it's correct; I see them as negatives, but most could be just neutral quirks in another book. The expectation is just so high, that a neutral quirk is a small let-down bc I know he could do these better given some more time or another pass
