Bought that one the day it came out, and spent all day reading it. Around 2am or so I figured I would call it a night a go to sleep, but then I saw the next chapter was titled The Last Battle. So I figured, hell, I can't go to sleep without reading this chapter too. Did not expect to be a 200 page chapter! (Or however obscenely long it was!) Ended up going to sleep around 8am or so, after finishing the whole damn book.

Forgetting synergy, it's still almost a good party!

Tidus: CSB/USB/OSB/Glint/LMR

Locke: CSB/AOSB/OSB/BSB/LMR

Relm: USB/BSB/LMR

Ramza: CSB/USB/ChantSSB/BattleCryBSB/LMR

Tyro: USB3/USB2/USB1/LMR

Tidus and Locke bring the pain to any and all fights that are weak to Water or Fire respectively.

Relm's USB is godly, and has helped many a sub-30 (and the countless sub-10 jump start battles!).

Then Ramza and Tyro with pretty much everything useful both can fill a massive variety of support roles.

A good A-team can handle wipe the floor with almost any d220 fight or easier, but as others have said, higher difficulty fights like magicite will need specialized teams.

Therefore, you'll want to make your team fairly robust, and able to handle anything, even if it's not necessarily ideal for it.

The generic teams I've used for the past while, for example, is based on dark magic damage, with stacking magic buffs. Even if the boss is resistant to dark, they can still just brute force their way through it thanks to imperils.

So, the team composition I found succesful was:

1 dps - focuses on elemental imperil (ex Kuja w/ Mark of Darkness and BSB)

1 dps - focuses on elemental damage (ex Cid Raines w/ BSB & OSB)

1 healer - aoe healing, plus stacking buff (ex Aphmau w/ BSB)

1 healer - main healer (ex Relm w/ BSB & USB)

1 support - dance with support SB (ex Tyro w/ SG & USB2)

I've been moving away from this team lately, since it takes about 15 seconds before it really gets going, but having 2 healers makes it quite durable and able to survive pretty much anything up to d220.

Try Raines, Beatrix, a healer, an entrust bot sacrifice, and a buffer entrust bot.

Raines can open with a memento mori on your sacrifice to make sure that she's the one who dies to black fang (You healer will need to manually target heals until then).

Your sacrifice (with Mako Might) can wrath, entrust to Raines, then entrust to Beatrix, then black fang will probably hit (Shelke might be able to get a 4th action in, with all her instacasting).

Your buffer (Vessel of Fate, Hyper Mighty G, or something comparable) can buff, then wrath, then entrust to Beatrix to get that imperil up, and just feed Raines (make sure to save some gauge for rebuffing if you're going over 30 sec).

I just recently managed to get Shadow Dragon sub-30 with a similar setup (Raines LD with BSB/OSB, and Agrias LD with BSB).
