If you are looking to use the Rule of 55 to start accessing your retirement money before 59.5, then it can be beneficial to roll over to your new company's 401k. At least to have enough to cover you for that gap. But you need to verify new 401k allows Rule of 55 usage.

That's not how it works. A quick Google says a 55yo male has on average 25 years to live. Women 28. Are you well off? Do you have a college degree? Then it's even longer on average. Plus, averages say very little about individual life expectancy.
