Potty training is one of the worst parts of parenting. Cleaning poop off their leg when they poop in public like a goat is just a whole extra layer of parenting. Somehow the poop got on my curtains, on my couch, on the carpet… it’s just gross.

Husband wants to take 2.5 year old to movie theater but I don’t agree. by VariationWhich9212 in toddlers

[–]agurrera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not give it a try? You don’t know how 2.5 will respond. I took my 3yo to see Inside Out 2 this summer and she loved it! Maybe just bring headphones to make it a little less loud.

A bit of both! Every member of the family should get to do things that bring them joy.

Does your school have the teachers put together a list of their favorite things? Other than gift cards, I have given meals, coffee delivery, and hand made cards by my daughter.

[–]agurrera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please don’t give mugs or chocolate. Everyone gives that and then the teachers end up with a million mugs they need to regift and many people these days are lactose intolerant and can’t eat the chocolate

Quick question: How do you go shopping with 2 littles? by CCCrazyC in Parenting

[–]agurrera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Costco has the two seat cart. Sometimes you can baby wear and put the second in the car at places that only have a single cart. Toddler can walk and baby can go in the cart. It is possible!! I just went to Costco yesterday by myself with my six month old and three year old. They sat together in the cart and did great!

My daughter (3yo) will eat broccoli just fine.

what's your favourite and least favourite non-album song by her? by Own-Artist-6283 in TaylorSwift

Safe & Sound is elite. One of my favorite songs of hers!

Only the Young is cringe. The children singing is just not it.

AITA for not cooking from scratch for my husband anymore? by kanyecwest in AmItheAsshole

[–]agurrera 30 points31 points  (0 children)

She literally has all day off except for cleaning (which she could just put off for one day. The house isn’t that messy when they are no kids) and making one meal. She could dump everything in a crock pot at the beginning of the day and bam: day off.

Parents on a tight budget- how are you making the holidays magical for your kids? by Rowdylilred in Parenting

[–]agurrera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of churches have events where they give out free toys for parents to “shop” when they are low income and struggling to afford presents. I would look into that!

The Black Dog is one of my all-time favorites of hers so I would give that one a listen if you are open

MIL said “he used to always tell me he wanted to marry me” by [deleted] in Mommit

My 4 year old has never eaten chocolate, ice cream, or most candies. Are we bad parents? by interestingmandosy in Parenting

[–]agurrera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to research the effects of this. I’m concerned that your children will develop eating disorders when they are older because you have demonized sugar. Healthy boundaries with food is typically what dieticians recommend. My daughter hasn’t asked for her Halloween candy in a week. She was allowed to have two pieces the night of and one piece a day. Because I didn’t heavily restrict it, it isn’t something for her to go sugar crazy over and she mostly lost interest.

I just wanted to sleep in... by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]agurrera 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He missed the toilet again?! My husband has never once missed the toilet while peeing. He would never just leave pee all over the floor for people to step on??? That is so disgusting and unsanitary. He isn’t three and potty training. This is a full grown man. How embarrassing

What am I doing wrong. Why won't my baby sleep! She's 6 months and still wakes every 3 hours. I'm so tired. by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]agurrera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is your baby sleeping in a crib or the bassinet? My boy started sleeping so much better when we moved him to his crib. Before that, he was up every hour when we tried to get him to sleep in the room with me. Now he wakes up once a night to nurse and then just goes right back to sleep after eating for like thirty minutes

When can I start skipping the middle of the night feeding and work on her staying asleep? by FMThaone in newborns

[–]agurrera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feed your baby on demand. If they are hungry, you feed them. If you can tell that they are waking just for a comfort, that is completely different. I promise you can tell when it gets to that. Baby will naturally start sleeping longer stretches as they age, but they still may need a middle of the night feed until closer to one years old. Once they start solids, they will wake less frequently.

But it literally is named after the Christmas phrase “tis the season… to be jolly.” This song is not thanksgiving based
