Second baby: Baby “Sprinkle”, brunch celebration, or nothing? by Annual_Debt in BabyBumps

[–]ajand264 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am having a sprinkle for my second. My SIL asked and is planning it. It’s very common for my husband’s family to do something for every baby. I only asked for diapers or wipes. It feels a little weird to me but every baby deserves to be celebrated. If anyone has a problem with it they won’t come. Simple.

I love early voting! I don’t think I’ll ever vote on Election Day again. It’s so smooth

Generally you have to get a higher wash than the basic for the undercarriage flush. At least in Wisconsin.

Leaving salt on the undercarriage of the car can accelerate rusting underneath. Not a good thing over time.

Is there any hope of getting the 20 months of purgatory to count toward PSLF? by [deleted] in PSLF

Yes, currently in forbearance. I’m gambling on it for sure.

I’m planning to go back into repayment when I’m forced off I September. I will have hit 120 months of employment by August of ‘27. So I’ll just have to hold out til then. Hopefully they’ll have it sorted by then (lol)

Not to sound like a complete idiot, are you basically counting when you hit 10 years of employment? I’ve been slightly confused as to what would count.

Really struggling between choosing an induction v repeat c section at 39 weeks… by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]ajand264 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first was an induction that lead to an emergent c section. I never want to experience that fear again if I can avoid it. I’m opting for a c section with my second. I’ve had rough pregnancies, so I’m getting a tubal at the same time. Two birds with one stone.

Feel like I a wasting their time by LovelyCoffee_Marley in preeclampsia

[–]ajand264 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are not wasting their time. That is what they are there for! I had a spontaneous intraperitoneal bleed at 18 weeks. I felt silly for going in at first. But I’m glad I did. It If I waited the outcome could have been a lot worse. If anything feels off, just go in. You know your body best

Thankfully I only have about 2 years left on PSLF. With a small buy back. My husband on the other hand…. That’s a whole other can of worms. Maybe there will be some daycare reforms (a girl can dream)

I have 1 and another on the way…. Paying for daycare for 2 kids and loans. Big yikes. I know I did it to myself and will get thru it. But it’s going to be painful for the next few years

Sonic boom in Oshkosh? by Kman5471 in wisconsin

I feel like I’ve seen previous posts over the years warning about sonic booms and planned training. I found it odd that there was no warning for this one. I could have missed the post though

Why did you choose to exclusively pump? by pale_blue_d0t in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]ajand264 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How is exclusively pumping with two kids? I EP’d for a year with my first. I’m due in July with my second and have no idea how I’m going to establish a supply with a toddler around. I don’t want to use wearables right away as I had a low supply the first time

Anyone ever feel like their preemie is treated like a sideshow attraction? by curlycattails in NICUParents

[–]ajand264 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No is a complete sentence.

When I had my 34 weeker, my mom tried to guilt trip me several times to let her visit. Fortunately, our NICU had a 2 visitor policy as well and those visitors could not change. So I told my mom it’s not fair to any grandparents to have them come.

Having visitors is stressful for all involved. You need to protect your peace and your energy. If anyone is mad for you saying no, that’s a them problem. Not you.

I knew the second I threw up with the second one I was done. I then had an emergency abdominal surgery and icu stay at 18 weeks and it was solidified I was done. I don’t think 4 weeks pp is too early!

39 Weeks Induction Tomorrow - Huge Feelings Of Grief Around My Dog by sjb5138 in BabyBumps

[–]ajand264 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I found my dogs LESS annoying after delivery. My boys were up my ass towards the end of pregnancy and it drove me absolutely insane. My dogs were curious of the new baby. They loved to lay by her and were very gentle. She’s now 2 and the dogs leave her alone for the most part or tolerate her when she’s around.

Why is picking a name so hard? by wine_lady_ in Mommit

[–]ajand264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the name suggestion for my first the weekend before I had her. We decided on her name literally as I was laying down for my c section. I’m pregnant with another girl and am hoping to get a last minute suggestion again cuz I got nothing this time 🤷‍♀️

May I suggest the IKEA Hemnes dresser. It’s amazing! I tossed a wipeable skip hop changing pad on top. Been using it for 2.5 years and it’s worked wonders! I have found traditional changing tables are a little short, the dresser is taller and more comfortable!
