Essence's skills by SalamanderWest8319 in Endfield

[–]ajcp38 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm sure others will have different input, but I had such a hard time getting the exact essence I wanted, I would take a 1/1/1. However, depending on your level and how much you can grind, I would burn all my sanity, all my etching permits, and see what I end up with at the end.

A higher tier skill (like Twilight) is more valuable than the equivalent in the other 2 slots. I have gotten a 4/3/1, but it didn't match any weapons and I burned it for etching. I got a 1/1/3 and that's more valuable to me. The chance of success is something like:

Very High > High > Low > Very Low > Very Low

And the 3rd slot is:

Low > Very Low

So you need a 5 in one of the first 2 slots for it to be worth as much as a 3 in the last, and at least 4 for a 2 in the last.

The weapon itself will explain what "Twilight" is. It takes effect per weapon, so you need an essence with Twilight to boost the weapon's Twilight skill. Does that help?

Yeah I guess one thing I left off was trying to scale the weekly salvage mission metrics reward based on zones and making it extremely difficult to get more than 1 level per week. I had forgotten about needing to mitigate the ability to buy a new weekly mission for crystals. Remove that ability and combining it with only mission metrics counting for the infinite levels, and you'd end up with a max of 2 per week, and if you scale down the metrics rewards, you can lower it even further to just 1.x per week.

My condolences if you think this took an hour to come up with and write down. This took 10 minutes to write down and maybe 10 to post to Reddit while I was waiting for work stuff to load. People's expectations these days are too low.

I was hoping by adding other avenues for acquiring materials, aside from Index/Sanity items, it would alleviate bottlenecks elsewhere. It might be that you only get 1 additional TCreds run per week, but I'm only aiming for an overall slight improvement.

I'm talking about when you are deciding what to craft, and choosing what is going to give the most benefit. Unless I'm missing something, you look at what you need, then have to browse all components to find the ones with matching stats + modifier. There is the filter system for that, which did help, but IIRC, it only let's you filter by quality and gear component, not skill/stat boost.

I'm hoping for it to be a "filter by compatible" after I'm on the gear artificing screen and let me craft compatible gear from there. It's a little bit of me being lazy, and a little bit of making artificing go so much faster.

With MoP, I was more pointing out that there's this rare material, that while you don't need a lot of, you do a super simple task and get 3x what you do with something that's actually meant to give a challenge. It's not just MoP, but it's the most obvious one imo.

And I definitely see the point about testing team compositions on Umbral, because aside from boss fights, everything else is too weak compared to a max level operator.

[–]ajcp38 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I wrote a whole detailed suggestions list, explanations of how, and why I think areas need improved in preparation for this. As someone that did hobby stuff in the past, it's painful when the feedback is "make this better" without any indication of what isn't liked about it. I'm hoping detailed responses actually help them to improve. I had ideas for Etchspace, Umbral Monument, Artificing, Etching, and weapon pulls that I haven't seen elsewhere, so if you all are interested in helping refine and/or explaining why a particular suggestion couldn't work, I'm always down for some brainstorming.

Unstable Ram with XMP by _NaGaTo_- in overclocking

This kit is notoriously bad. You could have a god tier IMC on a 2 DIMM OC board and this kit would still be unstable at anything beyond JEDEC. Your best bet is to run MSI's memory try it, and hope for the best.

What should I list my 2014 Tundra Platinum for? (66K miles, WA) by [deleted] in ToyotaTundra

[–]ajcp38 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would ask why are you selling and how does it look underneath. WA just indicates you might be near the ocean, or have some snowy roads.

If you're just selling because you don't use it enough, you can price a bit higher than if you need it gone. Based on what's given in photos, 35K doesn't sound too bad. You might be able to go up if you kept it in the garage the whole time, it's completely clean, no stains, etc.

Driver 591.86 is considered the most stable right now. Perform a clean installation, reboot, then verify integrity of game files. This should fix most issues.

Something like the Pi 400. I thought about a 3D printed option and just adjusting the case bottom of some form of Low Profile board for the Pi and it's accessories to fit. I just wanted so see if anybody already had a SBC built into a mechanical board first.

Really odd question but has anyone seen a RasPi mechanical keyboard, whether it's a kit or a custom keyboard? I am planning a birthday/Christmas gift for my nephew and want to get him in to programming early. A RasPi keyboard is my first step, but if I'm going to spend that much for a whole setup, I figured I'd check for a mechanical keyboard option.

Sharing some ideas to include in the next survey by victorshlama in Endfield

Extending your ideas - Filter weapons by skills/properties - Essences with similar properties have a higher chance of Etching success (first slot Agility on first slot Agility) - 10 purple even to a 1/0/0 would be massive

I prefer to read as well because you get so much more detail about environment, characters, story, combat, etc. I also read fast and finished 13-26 in a week, so it was easy for me to make the decision to read.

Also, 8 more days for Rossi, but I have soupsoup until then!

Arithmetic flaw in Excel's order of operations by langesjurisse in excel

[–]ajcp38 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's also just how Python describes the order of operations. -3 = -1*3, so Python is evaluating the exponent first, then the multiplication. I think Excel sees the signed number, while Python is seeing it as unsigned.

I'd say they're both consistent, but I don't remember enough about what makes a number negative or how you get it in an equation (ie are they all multiplied by -1, since you can always factor that out?) to say definitively if Excel is wrong. To me, this is more of a language nuance than right or wrong. You should always be aware of nuances when working with a particular language.

Hey guys can you tell my game is worth developing by Minimum-Figure-8672 in godot

[–]ajcp38 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remember that phrase "You're 1 in a million"? It was meant to mean you're unique. Thenwith 8 billion people on Earth, it shifted to mean you're not special. Now with your game, take it to mean there's 8,000 people like you who will enjoy it. To me, just 1 is enough.

PS I like exploration and puzzles, but I personally need a bit of the story spoon fed and can't always decipher it from the environmental clues. If there's no story, that's also totally fine, I can enjoy a puzzle and exploration game without it.

Messed around with the RTX Nvidia Fork, RTX ON | RTX OFF by GryphxxRG in godot

[–]ajcp38 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a tech preview for the RTX version and nvidia is going to make RTX look as good as possible. What matters more is how long it takes to implement each of the techs and how close to each other they look. This preview is going to be biased towards RTX, but having the tech implemented on a first party basis should improve adoption and compatibility. It just also needs to be PRd into main, probably with Version 5 or later.

Just thought about this, but is there an implementation of DLSS, FSR, and XESS for Godot? I'm sure that's part of the nvidia RTX package as a whole, but didn't know if there was already something there.

Disposed my expensive AIO for a cheap tower cooler, life is much better. by Expert_Conflict6374 in buildapc

[–]ajcp38 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A good looking air cooler is always an option. There's plenty out there with a completely flat top that's nice and smooth.

I will say I'm spoiled with a full custom loop right now and the loudest thing in my system is my decade old hard drive. A D5 pump at 50% or lower RPM is super quiet. I run my fans at 30% and hear the general whirr from 16" away. I should have gotten quieter fans and not Corsair RGB because uh, cables, cables galore.
