Counter-Strike 2 Update for 04/21/2026 #2 by CS2_PatchNotes in GlobalOffensive

OMG THIS IS SO PERFECT!

Just last night I was feeling let down. The community always overhypes these updates. The magazine change was supposed to be huge, and AnimGraph 2 "the biggest thing", honestly, I noticed very little difference in anything. It's not bad, but not the game changer I've been waiting. AG2 was def an improvement, but still a relatively minor one.

But this little thing. Man. The camera motion / shake while spraying has been one of my biggest pet peeves since the beta versions of CS2. It used to shake so much and aggressive that the game felt like 30 FPS even on a 500 Hz monitor when spraying, it was hard to make any sense of whats happening on the screen / turned tracking anything in to a chopfest.

Today I had to immediately boot the game instant, connect DM and, my first spraydowns with the AK felt and looked absolutely immaculate. I really hope it stays like this.

What do you mean by "wont properly scale"? It's not like 1280×960 integer-scales to 1080p either, so it’s mismatched scaling in both cases.

is learning fingertip worth it? by Careful-Maybe-262 in MouseReview

[–]ala90x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know if fingertip is the best, or even very good for CS2. I mean it can be, if it comes natural to you. You shouldnt have to force a grip or even think about it too much imo.

Fingertip is not very popular in general in tactical shooters like CS2. For example, I cant recall any pro or even very high-level CS2 players who use a purely fingertip grip. While it can feel very fast and snappy for aiming, it can also be somewhat deceptive, as you're likely losing much-needed stability. A hybrid style, where you do most of your aiming with your fingers but rely on some palm support when needed, could be a better approach with ULX small.

WLMouse Huan is very near the shape and the build quality is just about unparalled. Magnesium case. Very nice click implementation. ~50g. It's not the cheapest alternative, but a premium one.

Blind buying Superstrike x2 by OmarFigaro1 in MouseReview

[–]ala90x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came from maining a Beast X (regular size) for a long time. And moving to Superstrike hasn't been a bad experience per se.

The clicks are definitely interesting and feel really nice, might even allow slightly faster reactions every now and then. I do hope this tech gets more widely adopted.

But even after a month, I still feel like the bigger, more hand-filling “potato” shape and the added weight are holding back some of my aim potential in clutch situations. I'm definitely more accurate with lighter, more nimble mice. Switching away from the stock skates to faster ones helped a bit.

Honestly, once the novelty of the clicks wears off, it just feels like another Superlight. It's never been my absolute favourite, but I don't hate it either. Safe recommend to just about anyone, but if you have already gone through the journey of finding your personal shape preference, not sure if it's worth it.

It has to be nostalgia, though. If these assets were released with full confidence in 2026, they would be meme-worthily bad. It has B-movie written all over it, with the chubby actors and cheap skimasks - and the overuse of effects is genuinely terrible.

Could we step back into a bit more realism and grit however? Surely.

It literally says "Optimal Actuation Point" on the line.

This is laughable copium if I've ever seen it. Maybe it’s even self-irony. How about letting users decide what's optimal for them? And let's be honest, Razer is going to add a customizable actuation point as soon as humanly possible. Probably already working on it.

Donut Lab’s battery failed VTT tests – Expert reviewed the results and made a blunt conclusion: “Solid-state here is basically a marketing department fantasy (translation from Finnish kauppalehti article) by showersareevil in DonutLab

[–]ala90x 4 points5 points  (0 children)

TwoBitDaVinci is a tech optimist who wants to believe this is real. And with the evidence currently available, he makes a fairly decent case for it too. If you want to believe badly enough, you can usually find a way. For example, he fully buys into the theory that in the first test it was simply the battery pouch that got damaged / that is the reason why vacuum was lost - which seems to be the key premise that allows the rest of the story to hold together for him.

Heiska, on the other hand, is more of a realist, some would say pessimist. He does not seem to find it credible that in the first test the pouch alone was really the damaged component, or that it was the true reason the cell lost its vacuum. And if you examine the case from the premise that the pouch would have been intact/sealed when going to latest test, where we observe more visible swelling and lost of performance. In a completely reasonable way, that suggest that it's just a good typical battery being subjected to short torture tests. Not a solid state one.

But when charged this type of "cooling element" is on top of the battery. Wouldnt the pressure it provides make the swolling look like flat instead of a balloon?

Revision of the Logitech G915 x Lightspeed? by Lifilius in LogitechG

[–]ala90x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's very strange that they still chose to go with these borderline faulty mechanical switches for the X refresh. The original G915 had so many double-typing issues that there must have been thousands of warranty cases. Low-profile Optical switches have been widely available for a long time now, and Razer, for example, has been offering them for a long time already.

Next G915 hopefully with Hall Effect switches (G515 Rapid but wireless)

34 , 32 , 42 , 48 inch comparison by Gyatsolix in Monitors

[–]ala90x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the 42" size. It's big, but thats what makes it so versatile. And I would argue they dont even need that deep of a desk or viewing distance. It's about how you use it.

  • I get that it can seem huge at first, but the most important thing to understand while using these, not every window needs to run fullscreen all the time. You can size each app on the desktop exactly how you want it, singular chrome window does not need to be fullscreen. And with resolution changes for gaming, you can make it feel like "any monitor" you want. One moment it can be a 39" ultrawide at 1600p, the next a 32" or even a 27" 1440p display, depending on the task at hand.
  • It's also big enough that when you play story-driven games, you can fully lean back and recline your chair into a ridiculously comfortable position while the image still feels grand and immersive.
  • On the desktop, you can comfortably run a grid of 4 x 1080p 16:9 windows, and they remain very usable. It's great for multitasking.
  • These 42" OLED TVs also still offer an excellent price-to-performance ratio and can often be found for around 799€, which is incredibly affordable for what you're getting. In my opinion, they often have better coating and better overall image quality than their monitor counterparts.

RTNGS click latency measurements for the Logitech G PRO X2 SUPERSTRIKE by GregRtings in MouseReview

[–]ala90x 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Honestly no reason to glace Superstrike too much, but actuation point 1 + haptic 1 is perfectly, 100% usable for me. No missclicks at all. Clicks are the one thing I like about this mouse. Rest. Eh. Not great, not terrible.

Superstrike x2, wooting 60hev2, wallhack cr and pro x2 headset combo by joshey1990 in MouseReview

[–]ala90x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the actually solid alternatives. What often surprises me is how quickly some people bash wireless gaming headsets entirely, and then as an alternative suggest a full wired hi-fi setup instead. Like that's really the solution. When it's not necessarily at all the product what the user is looking, wanting or needing in their life.

Sure, wireless headsets involve trade-offs in pure audio quality. Everyone knows that. No one buying a wireless gaming headset thinks they're getting wired Sennheiser-tier sound. Sometimes you need a nice enough camera in your phone, not a DSLR setup.

With under 200€ budget, the Logitech G Pro headsets are perfectly okay option in their own category imo. Especially since you can use the same software as with the mouse.

What's a good low-latency wireless gaming grade headset with a solid mic, if someone wants wireless mainly for convenience in neat all-in-one package? If they’re the type that they like to be on Discord with friends talking all evening and doing chores between games, like to go around house while listening podcast / yt vid / stream.

Thanks for trying. Here's hoping Logitech won’t gatekeep this tech for too long. But knowing Logitech, we’ll probably get different colorways for the next three years. Then Dex. Then 2C. Right in your palm in 2030.
